Why did Ainsworth let deano go one of our better strikers go and keep an SPL REJECT that has done f**k all, all season long what has Craig done JDS:emoticon-0112-wonde

    Hi EDC

I would imagine it's because he wants players who give 100% commitment every game. Deano has class and can be a match winner but, from feedback on here and listening to commentaries, it's clear that, more often than not, he isn't totally committed. I doubt many are too surprised.

    welcome to the forum!!

As some who has criticized deano a lot, im perhaps a little bias here. But I would flip your point about Craig and say, apart from that spell at the start of the season (5 goals in 5 games) what has morgan done all season? morgan sulks around the pitch like a spoilt child who thinks he should be the centre of attention, will put in little or no effort unless its a big game/against one of his ex teams and moans constantly at his team mates and gaz. A fully bothered and motivated morgan is a superb player, but those games became further few and far between, adding to the fact that he was probably one of our highest earners for me it was certainly the right decision

As for craig I would have understood it if gaz hadn't kept him, but craig was getting better as the season went on. Him and McClure looked to be striking up a real partnership, and he put in some excellent performances towards the end of the season especially against Dagenham and torquay. Keeping him is a risk yes, but I think much less of a risk than morgan and hopefully he will be a key player next season

Thank for the welcome. I doubt VERY much if Craig will hit 10 goals next season maybe even while he is at Adams Park at leat Morgan when he could be bothered to play linked up the play held onto the ball to get Matt McC and Max into the game Craig never did that

It will be alot to do with the money he's on and his hamstring problems and to be honest I'm glad to have Paul Hayes as a replacement

Craig could go either way really, when hes had a run in the team he isn't bad in a partnership. I cant see him being a starter next season though - paul hayes is a superb signing!

The problem EDC is that if one player is showing a lack of commitment on the pitch it can have a very adverse affect on the rest of the team. I would rather have 11 fully committed good players who play for each other than 10 fully committed players and one very good player who appears to believe he is too good to be playing in the team and often can't be bothered to put himself out. He presumably didn't want to stay, which is another reason for not signing him. If someone's heart isn't in it then it's best they go.
