Can't please some people and I refer that to most comments on the WO article. He is an ex-Brazilian international, and will be playing at the Vic for a small club in Herts. He has tons of experience and is an incredible shot-stopper. He is a giant, and a good character for the squad! Yes, he can make mistakes but what Watford keeper hasn't, he is now a Watford player, so get behind him! GOMESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I agree with all of that Mex. Yes he can be a bit flaky but as you say most keepers can. At the very least we should give the guy a chance.
I will always get behind all 11 men on the pitch in a Watford shirt. However, if I am evaluating this signing I'm sorry but I can't lie, I'm underwhelmed. Just my opinion Mex, after all, this is what this forum is all about. GK for me is a key position who must inspire confidence in the players in front of him. I don't think Manu did this as much this season and thus I believe this was one of the reasons our defence under performed. I can see more of the same with Gomez, but obviously I will be absolutely delighted to be proved wrong.
Deffo, more a dig at all on the W.O. posts as look at the comments there, he's being slated poor fella.
I totally agree with that Mex and just to say i wasn't getting at anyone on here either - the WO and Facebook sites are awful for moaning - it's not like that on this site
That why I don't read the WO, preferring a more intelligent debate here. I'm sure that all teams get those negative fans that bring their negativity into the ground, but we seem to have more than our fair share. Previous targets of abuse I have witnessed have been a young Tim Sherwood and Damian Francis. Whilst four seasons ago I finally moved seats because of the people around me that had nothing good to say about anyone in a yellow shirt. Scapegoat that season was John Eustace. Best move I ever made as the group around me are a top top bunch. I genuinely do not know why some people bother to go. As for Gomez, Mini Bloother and I will both be queuing up to get his signature at the open day and be wishing him the absolute best of luck next season.
The great thing about this forum is that we can have really strong discussions but do so without any of the nastiness that so many places have - I think we genuinely respect other people here
Sounds as if some of the Leeds fans thought he would go there. There latest thoughts are that he would want to go to a club with more ambition than them.
