Sportsound (Radio Scotland) reported today that Keane has said he doesn't want to be considered for the job.

They were also saying Owen Coyle is not making encouraging noises about his interest.

But, ye know, pundits and reporters trying to report on what they don't know by using scraps of what they might know.

Apropos of **** all, an interesting interview with George Burley on Sportsound at the moment about his tenure as Scotland manager.

Don't want Coyle either to be honest, not that I think it'll happen but i'd take Moyes, MacKay, Lambert probably in that order but god alone knows who we'll appoint, have to be quick about it too, I suppose I just have to hope we get another Strachan or Lennon rather than another Barnes or Mowbray.

Moyes was also discussed on Sportsound. The "feeling" being that his priority would be to remain in the EPL.

Yep I can get that totally, but he is on record as saying that he would love to manage Celtic one day so what better time than now. He could do 4 years and re-build his reputation and attract interest in the EPL again. He's only young.

I concur. If I was Moyes I would defo be thinking that.

However, the fly in the ointment for the next Celtic manager appointment is Lenny's own comments. He said he left because of next season's player/transfer budget. That's not an attractive advertisement to any prospective manager.

Therefore, if I were Moyes, that would have to be considered. Also, if I were Moyes, there's the attraction of Euro fitba. What better stage to get your reputation out there. Lenny did exactly that.

I'd agree with that too. Moyes has a proven track record of bringing through promising youngsters which, given Celtic's limited spend on transfers, has got to be attractive.

I would like Moyes at Newcastle but like Dexv and Gambo said the lure of CL is a big draw which is not something Newcastle will offer in the foreseeable future plus not much of a transfer kitty either.
