Adams will have an inflated sense of confidence in these guys and I find that dangerous, his been given the freedom to do what he wants especially since this technical director is nothing but a facilities manager with a fancy title. I'd rather see the youth team players go out on long term loan contracts at League One clubs. I don't trust anyone at Carrow Road as the the clubs turned into a complete circus in the space of a few months.
Or he will actually know what they are capable of and therefore very capable of integrating them into the first team without pressuring them beyond their ability. Why are people making up things about Adams and then using it as a stick to beat him with, we don't know what he'll do because he hasn't done it yet. Form opinions based on facts not wild speculation.
Adams needs to earn respect not waltz through the doors and expect it because his an ex player, don't step up on the stage if you don't want to get flak. Proud and grateful about what he done with the youth team but I haven't seen any concrete evidence that his good enough for this job and I really hope he proves me wrong on that.
Again why do you assume he has no respect, everything I've seen of him he seem very contrite and grateful to be given the position
It's whole 'I'm a fan too' thing, as I said he needs to prove me wrong, but just because his an ex player doesn't mean people are going to give him an easy time and if we become a mediocre championship club god help him. I'll give the guy support but I'm furious with the board, it's the Bryan Gunn scenario over again.
Makes you wonder how 17 year old Michael Owen ever played for England without going on long-term loan, or how 16 year old Wayne Rooney ever scored for Everton against Arsenal! Northampton, you talk utter tosh! If they're good enough they're old enough!
After overseeing back to back promotions and two good (one totally dire, also, admittedly ) seasons in the top flight, you really would think that lessons would have been learned by our board of directors. Incredibly, it appears as if none have
And how many times has youth failed? Stop seeing the world through those green and yellow tinted glasses Dave. They need a season of regular football on loan, at the moment we cannot gamble we need players who are going to go out there perform.
Surely he's saying that he want success as much as the fans, not "Love me because I'm an Ex player", your just inventing reasons to be negative about him, there are genuine reasons for concern but your literally making things up about him at this point. let him actually get some players in, play some games and then form opinions on hope he's doing the job but all this complying about things he might do but hash;t done yet or in anyway indicated he will is ridiculous.
i think people are getting carried away. adams knows the limitations of the youngsters although i would think he might have more faith in one or two than they probably deserve at this moment - but he isn't going to fill the entire first team with youth products - that's just scare mongering. i would think we'll see josh involved most weeks and maybe rudd (if ruddy leaves) and possibly a couple more will regularly be on the bench and maybe get a few starts, but i don't see anything drastic
I am guessing on past comments that Loza is one that falls in to this category. NA rates him very highly (from his interview after the Arsenal game), but one that you are not so keen on.
i think he's decent but i think he's some way off being ready for the championship. i'd love to see him try his luck at a league one side next season to see if he could knock in 10+ goals. he's got potential - many of them have - but from what i can tell not many of them are ready for a season in the championship - most aren't even ready for a bit-part role - heck, some aren't ready for league football at all yet!
Oh than God for that.We now have Supers blessing so we can all get on with our lives now. Thanks Supers,I can sleep easy tonight.
Age and maturation of young players can transform dramatically, who knows how many will improve over the summer and I expect several will fade. let's just wait and see.
if my posts upset you so much (and it appears they do), why don't you stick me on ignore? failing that, try and write something of interest for once
I'm not convinced that NA will 'swamp' the first team with youth players and part of the 'technical director's' job is to organise loans for the more promising ones. Let's not shoot NA down before we know who will and who won't be in the squad or a ball has even been kicked in pre-season!! As Supers has said - 'give him a chance'.
