Always been fairly neutral on Hamilton but I can't help but feel he's okay with the tension between him and Rosberg escalating publicly. Seems like an attempt at some sort of bizarre Senna/Prost fantasy. The media's response is just playing right into it. I dunno, Silver's the psych quack, not me
If any act like this is deliberate by any driver then they would deserve the negative PR, but let's face it, they have all had their moment...........
What I said was what Wolff said too. Barcelona Test - Day 1 Share122Tweet20 Hamilton tests solutions for Rosberg's start issues ESPN Staff May 13, 2014 « Fastest lap bodes well for Monaco - Chilton | Improvement despite shunt - Kobayashi » © Sutton Images Enlarge Part of Lewis Hamilton's testing programme at Barcelona on Tuesday was focused on solving a clutch issue team-mate Nico Rosberg has been struggling with at the start of recent races. Hamilton was at the wheel of the W05 on Tuesday in Barcelona, but had his running limited by a wet morning before working on engine management and aero evaluations as well as practice starts in the afternoon. Ahead of the test team boss Toto Wolff revealed that Rosberg was struggling with starts and that Mercedes had made it a "special project" to get to the bottom of the issue. "On the starts we have a problem on Nico's car," Wolff said. "It seems to be a problem related to the clutch. That is a special project of ours; we expected some improvement for Barcelona which didn't kick in as expected. We just need to sort it out for Monaco because that's crucial there and we discussed it in the debrief." After testing on Tuesday, Hamilton said he had been working on the issue ahead of Monaco where a start can make all the difference. "The start at every race is important, but Nico's been a little bit unhappy with some of the starts and as a team we have been okay but it could be better. We were really trying to focus on that to see if we could improve it." Read more at http://en.espnf1.com/mercedes/motorsport/story/158187.html#tGSajTkhQXbD6eHI.99
Quite. Vetl/Ham/Alo have all done questionable things in the past on the track. Rosberg was considered too nice, or weak as some put it, to have done this ordinarily, I just think Hamilton has put him over the edge recently and Nico has got angry and dirty!
Is that not a car problem, which is what has been said before on here? Anyway let's just agree to disagree and leave the thread to discuss what's important.
I have no problems if it was a genuine mistake...the only thing I questioned was why did he start reversing even though he knew that he couldn't get in another lap. And he knew Hamilton was coming behind on his final hot lap. Yes he said he didn't know where lewis was, but he had to know other cars were coming up behind him. I think that is something the FIA will be looking at. And others have been asking that too so we will see where it goes. For me, I would like the race to start exactly was they qualified. Let the battle begin.
Now this from Rosberg.....this isn't sounding too good. Maybe he is admitting he was wrong to reverse saying he didn't know where lewis was? And is this why lewis was so pissed? So will Nico Rosberg get penalised not for seemingly making a mistake and ending up in the escape road but for then reversing out of it towards the race track, thus keeping the yellow flags out for longer? 15:07: I've got some more from Nico Rosberg, this time focusing on the aspect of him reversing back up the escape road. "Of course I'm sorry for Lewis," he says. "I didn't know exactly where he was but once I was reversing I did see he was coming up. Of course that's not great, but that's the way it is."
For **** sake now all Hammy fans get put under the same umbrella. Just knew this would happen when Nico locked up.
Then what is under investigation? The FIA wouldn't release a statement saying he's under investigation, if he wasn't under investigation.
