Laudrup has agreed a settlement with the club over his sacking. The evening post are quoting the settlement to be around £3 million
That's a lot of money for 15 months remaining of his contract (when sacked). Approx. £200, 000 a month or £50, 000 a week (ish).
Both parties happy . The Swans keep everything secret and Laudrup gets the money owed to him . I hope all concerned can learn from this situation, nobody has been perfect in all of this IMO . If the Swans could have got away with not paying anything they would have, that tells you a bit about the way in which he was releived of duties and the things that went on, overall im happy its all done and dusted and it means that Monk and the board has a clear path ahead. Time to move on and look forward to a cracking new prem season, glad it didnt drag on through the summer so its only positive stuff from here on in ...hopefully
Sounds like both parties get to keep things secret Norway, this works out for both sides. The figure hasn't been revealed and the post is simply guessing it, neither party will reveal it now as it would appear.
Sounds about right 2-3m. Both parties can move on, and saves it all being dragged up and getting messy if it went to a tribunal!!
Im sure the Swans were more happy to keep things secret than Laudrup but at the same time if he talks he black balls himself within the game of football so as you say best for both parties. Put into focus us spending 2/3m on a payout and 500k to give to monk for staying up and we wont even buy kit, footballs and gear for our youngsters . The buzz phrase now seems to be about getting "back to basics" so lets do that as a club from top to bottom and push forward into the next exciting chapter of our progression
Probably a confidentiality agreement been signed by both parties, so we will never know exactly what went on.
Almost definitely an NDA signed on this settlement. Glad it's done and dusted. We should hopefully know exactly how much money we've got the play with this season now.
I just wonder whether ML has been offered a job and as such needed to conclude this issue so as to be able to take up a post.
3 or 4 million down the tubes , not exactly the old " practical " Swansea way , pretty expensive " personal " vendetta imo . Hope we dont lose money in such a way again.
Surely that is a consequence of sacking somone in the middle of a contract. If you want rid of him then you have to pay. Didnt the same nearly happen to us with Sousa but luckily Leceister decided they would like to pay us some compo to have him from us.
maybe or maybe not, its not our problem anymore, it's finished and never to return and what he does is of no concern to Swansea city anymore...job done..
