Adams is reported to want ex-Town boss and one-time Canaries striker Joe Royle as his director of football. <yikes>

Didn't Adams play under Royle at Everton ? Or have I got my dates mixed up?

There isn't a position for a Director of Football.

Yeah, they have that wrong. We are in the market for a Technical Director, not a Director of Football.

Exactly. But doesn't this just show how totally inept our Board has been? That any piece of scurrilous gossip is taken as believable? That if someone said that Joe Kinnear was going to be appointed as DOF, people would take it seriously?

We are a joke. An utter joke.

If you substituted for ' how totally inept our Board has been ' the words ' how totally stupid our supporters have become for believing any rubbish even that coming from a binners source ' your point would be correct

I think it's pretty clear that Adams asked for Foley to be his assistant.

It's also pretty clear that Foley believed that he therefore had the job.

It's also pretty clear that our board did not want Foley and said no to Adams.

All of that can be interpreted completely the opposite way to how an Ipswich supporting website and Foley himself would portray it. Of course he's pissed off. But frankly, I that's the first decision the board have got right IMO, I didn't want Foley. Then have the board "vetoed" Adams decision? Well maybe - but equally Adams might have just come to them and said, look, this guys keen, what do you think? And the board said no. Does that undermine Adams? No idea, it depends on what actually has happened. We don't know. I doubt the board would have deliberately antagonised their newly appointed manager. I strongly suspect that Foley is just pissed off and exaggerating

Your football club has become the best comedy act I have seen in ages! Every day we get to have another bloody good laugh at your board's complete ineptness!

The gift that keeps on giving!

It's a glorified facilities manager that's all this role is.
