About to book tickets back to London for the final. A bit early - but do you think we will be doing the walk to Wembely (is our home ground) from Shep Bush? I did this walk on our FA cup day out was a great laugh... Wonders of technology - watched the whole game in the back of a cab in NY today!
I was talking to my brother about this yesterday, would be great fun if a lot of people were keen on it.
How long of a walk is it? What about a walk from Hennessys Kingsbury? I must admit the idea appeals to me. How long could I go without a pit stop for a pee?
I did the walk for the Milk Cup Final & that was the only good bit of the day as went downhill once at Wembley Fingers crossed this time turns out different.
I know that the people that I am going with are keen to do it - hopefully someone will start to make something a bit more 'official' soon.
I spoke to a mate of mine the other day and he said that there is definitely a walk being organised from Shepherds Bush Green. Try a Google search.
From Hennessy's to Wembley Stadium is 2.3 miles. It's about an hour to walk. http://walkit.com/walk/?city=london... stadium&tuid=506331_550750&rta=old&direct=0#
10 am at LR according to club website. bit early tbh. i'll have stuff to do early morning. would rather it kicked off around 11.30, get to wembers about 1.30. going to raise a few eyebrows with the wife leaving for a 3pm footy match at 9am! (obviously still going to do it)
It was the best bit of the day even at the FA cup final - several dozen pubs I hazily recollect. We picked up loads of people in Harlesden once we made it up scrubs lane. Another good bit was all the houses on the walk putting QPR flags out of their windows..
Be our 12th man and #WalkToWembley with your fellow QPR supporters ahead of Championship Play-Off Final against Derby County ... QPR are back at Wembley next Saturday for the first time in 28 years, as Harry Redknapp's side go head-to-head with Derby County in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final with a place in the Premier League at stake! On our previous three visits to the home of English football in 1967, 1982 and 1986, thousands of you - the fans - have walked to Wembley and we, as a club, are encouraging you to do the same this time around. R's fan Dan Rutherford and friends have come up with a route that is 5.6 miles long, starting at Loftus Road at 10.00am and arriving at Wembley at approximately midday, giving supporters plenty of time to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere around the stadium. Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Rutherford said: “This is a great opportunity for QPR fans to embrace something which is unique to our club. “This will be the fourth time in our history that we’ve walked to Wembley as one and we’d encourage as many supporters as possible to not only take part, but also to embrace the nostalgia and paraphernalia of past walks.” QPR in the Community Trust – in their 20th year – will be represented on the ‘WalkToWembley, as well as representatives from the Story of QPR who will be filming on the day, so keep an eye out for their bucket collectors throughout the walk. Its going to be pissing down all day, heavy rain is forecast for the morning and heavy showers for the afternoon. My mate is doing it but I'd rather not be soaked all day.
Yep, weather is looking decidedly dodgy. I'm meeting my brother at LR at 10 and we're going to make a decision then - should be great fun if the rain stays away.
Rude words....as i am meeting people in SB to hand over tickets...just because of the walk, might see you in Henesseys after all
