Remy is 27... which for a striker is nearing past peak. Yes, some go on being good for a long time- but unlike other positions strikers typically are best when they're about 25-27... they peak even earlier if their games is purely about speed and acceleration. 27 isn't old for any other position- but for a top striker it is the tail end of their very best years usually. Then it's a slow very gradual decline.

Seems incredible. I haven't watched much of Chelsea this season, has Luiz done anything different this season over past seasons to justify what I would consider a 4x increase in his value? I think RA is laundering money through PSG to circumvent FFP!
Wtf is wrong at Chelsea are they feeling the pinch this badly or what? Ra cannot produce a mythical sponsorship deal with fake Arab contracts to cover the spend? That battersea stadium better get thrown up with 75k seats pretty quick or they will end up with a small but costly squad unable to compete on all levels..... Right now they have done "ok" hocking luiz and mata for 80+ mil but if you get say costa, matic, salah and whomever then ok but what's next... Sell hazard cos he isn't defensive enough? Where will this all end? Don't tell me Chelsea will bring the 26 lonely unwanted back to sell them and all!
Not sure about the small squad, they currently have the biggest squad in world football since they had 27 (?) players out on loan last season and still had one of the biggest squads available in the PL. IMO, it looks like they are cutting their costs. A.Cole and Lampard going, sold Mata and potentially Luiz too. Don't be surprised to see other big earners such as Torres, Cech, Terry, etc leave over the next twelve months too.
