"Spanish duo Malaga and Espanyol are said to be battling it out for the services of former Swansea City boss Michael Laudrup.

Michael Laudrup's two-year spell with Swansea City was ended earlier this season after a bitter fall out between the former Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder and the Welsh club's board.

Since his departure, the Danish coach has been linked with several jobs in European football, including Tottenham Hotspur, who axed Tim Sherwood following the final game of the season.

And, it is now reported by Danish television that Spanish sides Malaga and Espanyol are weighing up an offer for the 49-year-old.

Malaga had been linked with former Barcelona boss Tata Martino as they search for a replacement for German Bernd Schuster, who left the club at the end of the season.

Whilst, Espanyol are also in need of a new boss after Javier Aguirre ended his relationship with the Catalonia based club"

Aren't those teams both established in La Liga? How is it a comedown? Rubbish.

he was linked with real madrid but it seems they have lost interest. There have been many managers sacked after we sacked laudrup but no takers for him from anyone...funny that if he was suppose to be a top manager <laugh> NOT.....He has managed 4 teams and all have had trouble with his style and all have got rid in a relatively short time. Its a hell of a come down to be snubbed for a man who's ego lets him get carried away thinking he is better than he actually is...teams are not stupid they have seen what he did to us and other clubs and when he eventually gets a job he wont last two seasons before he will be sacked again... He needs to work with the chairman and not against him or he wont last anywhere...

Outstanding. You've summed up yourself in 1 sentence.

You're a big fan of Malky Mackay aren't you? He was sacked before Laudrup and is yet to take a job.
    Martin Jol?
    Gianfranco Zola?
    Steve Clarke?
    Roberto Di Matteo?

What about George Graham? When he left his last job nobody would have expected him never to return to football management.
He chose not to and that is no reflection of his ability whatsoever.

Do you think it might have anything to do with the settlement of Laudrup's contract?

Ah,good old Michael Laudrup. Swansea City's most successful manager - EVER!

Probably now sitting on a beach somewhere,or tending to his world wide business ventures.

Perhaps even getting himself ready for a spot of World Cup punditry out in Brazil.

He may also be discussing with his accountants the best place to put the financial settlement that will be forthcoming from his previous employers.

Whilst M.L. is embroiled in the above, his successor,Garry Monk, will be poring over brochures from home security companies.

Which is it Dai 73 or 78. make your mind up.

On a serious note, As soon as we settle with him he will be back in work, guarenteed. No matter what dai thinks there are people out there with more football knowledge than Dai ( yes it is true) and they will bite ML hand off to have him working at their football club.

73%; 78% or any other figure you want to pluck from mid air,the FACTS are inescapable.

Laudrup was the most successful Swansea City manager - EVER!

And we all know how much you admire the stating/producing of FACTS. <laugh>

I've been reading Dai's outpourings, both football and otherwise, for many years, and one thing stands out above all else - he is not particularly knowledgeable - on any subject.

    And that's another FACT. <laugh>

No reason why Laudrup should rush back into management.

Unlike many other manager's who find themselves unemployed,he has other business interests to occupy his time, and sustain him both financially, and intellectually.

He'll re-emerge eventually, and make his jealous detractor's eat their rather pointless, and unpleasant, words.

Well I'm no fan of Laudrup's football, but I wish him the best wherever he ends up, he'll need to engage the players more though and be more hands on, be interesting to see how he does at his next club, strange how no Prem club came in for him though?.................<ok>
