Well he couldn't get any worse I think there are probably better goalkeepers available for that price, although at least with him you know what you are getting. To me, he seems steady but unspectacular.
I'll be delighted if we get him. He's very young for a keeper and will improve. Shay Given was a pipe-dream and with his dodgy shoulder would have been a huge gamble. Forster with Zaluska as back-up will do for me, then a 20 goal-a-season striker and a CB, with the dead-wood shifted.

Isn't funny no matter what the subject is a bigoted bear allows his hatred for Neil to be aired. For that money, there is far better available. Glad Newcastle have told us where to go. His kicking is awful, and for a guy that tall, he does not give the sort of aerial presence he really should. The fact that we missed out on Westwood who has now gone to Sunderland on a free, is very disapponting. If he's going there just to warm the bench behind Gordon, are things that bad that he wouldn't have preferred to be 1st choice with us instead? There has to be better options out there than Forster.
I think we should go for him. We know what we can expect. We could sign a so called better keeper but after a while we may then find out he is worse. Kicking, we know about because we have watched him intently all season. I think it only costed us one goal. A goal keeper who we haven't watched as intently may make more mistakes. Most time goal keeper has problems clearing back passes is because of the quality of back pass, to weaker foot etc. I think over the last 40 years Celtic have signed 25/30 goalies and Forester I would rank as third.
