Oxford's James Constable, who McGhee pursued relentlessly less than two years ago, has rejected a new contract with Oxford and signed for newly-promoted Conference side Eastleigh! What the ****? So that's already one Conference team that has a better strikeforce than we do at the moment. Get a friggin' move on Clarke and Higgs! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27503897
did you know that newly promoted eastleigh has a big backer behind them. lots of money to play with like forest green rovers. im not surprised about this deal. constable has gone for the money. remember conference has no FFP rules. so if you have a wealthy backer then expect pretty good players for this level to join. apparently we have a high budget again but clarke has said he wants players who wants to be here for the right reasons so i doubt we will make these kind of signings like constable.
We'll just wait around 'til all the players that are any good have been snapped up and then we'll sign some crocked journeymen, supplemented by a few kids, and then struggle for the whole season. Sounds familiar? Uncle Nick tells us that lessons have bewen learnt and that there's a root and branch reform blah blah blah - it's all bollocks, the same rubbish will be repeated until this failed board are forced out. We should be signing people now.
here you go baldee.... same team eastleigh who signed constable has now signed jack midson... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27539112
That's a pretty decent strikeforce for the Conference, Constable and Midson. So, FGR and Eastleigh are the moneybags clubs, let's hope there are some decent strikers left for us to sign, once and if we get around to it
Perhaps this could be the reason there is a lack of transfer activity. When you consider who we still have under contract I'm sure that has an impact in the budget regardless whether the conference doesn't have to apply to FFP.
at least we dont have to worry about barnet this coming season. they just signed akinde bet he scores a hattrick against us now i said this
Couldn't hit a badgers ass with a banjo! Hmmm actually he was on fire with Ebbsfleet when there if I remember that is what alerted GJ to make him an become part of the Dark side.
thing is akinde couldnt hack league 1 or above. he couldnt get in the city team in the championship, struggled with us, brentford and wycombe in league 1. but played well in league 2 for wycombe and done well in the conference. so our new league is pretty much akindes level so may be dangerous.
Well Edgar Davids is still their manager I believe and will probably, but surely he must have done his homework on Akinde.
