Maggie had 2 options... Intervene, pay the mining company's off with the publics money so their contaminated coal could just about go on for a while longer.

Or let the company's take the fall like the bankers should of and allow possible replacements to come in place of the failed company's.

I believe she made the right decision... now if you ever speak that way of the Iron Lady again I swear upon my favourite part of my back garden, I will punish you.

Carol Thatcher and Mark Thatcher did ok from connections Maggie had. That numb nuts Mark would have been unemployable if it hadn't been for Maggies connections.

Refusing to vote for a party because of their politicians of 30 years ago doesn't make a huge amount of sense - - their current politicians are providing plenty of reasons not to vote for them so it's not like you have to go back to the archives.

The wealthier amongst us are those doing the hiring, it helps if the wealthier amongst us have more money (bigger budget) to employ more people.

Any award from Ronald Reagan is a good thing, one of the greatest politicians to ever live, his advisor Milton Friedman was also a superb economist.

I don't often drink champagne, but the day she died, was worth a glass or two to celebrate.
    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

    BBC News:

" Sunderland prides itself on the speed of it's ballot counting "

With only 7 people voting they can count them on one hand that's why.

Seriously, don't feel sorry, it was a joyous day for many people, just a shame she hadn't gone 30 years earlier.
From your perspective, it's good to see you seem to have moved on from the Tory party, that can only be a blessing for you and bring much enrichment. <ok>

You poor deluded fool, ask your grandfather what it was like before trade unions, every safety net in place for you today was put there by the Labour Party, but then again you have probably been invited out to a grouse shoot for the weekend, If you go to work every day you are WORKING CLASS regardless of how you see yourself .

I see myself as working class although I don't work now til' August :)

I couldn't care less about champagne socialists who claim to be a representative of the worker and wouldn't know how to assemble a bookcase.
