Last season was his most "successful" at Arsenal. He played in both cups, winning the FA cup (saving penalties in a shootout), and saved a high profile penalty in the Champions League against Bayern. Overall it's a no from me.
28 year old France striker Bafetimbi Gomis will be available on a free in a month or so. Our name is still being linked by the press, along with plenty of other clubs. The Daily Mirror are claiming that Newcastle have offered him £85,000 a week but he is holding out for £100,000.
The Liverpool Echo claims Liverpool are "stepping up their efforts" (whatever that means) to sign Michel Vorm.
Michy Batshuayi seems like a really good prospect. A shame we didn't get him for halv price last year. We'll probably have to double our money to get him this time around... http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...riker-Michy/story-21127030-detail/story.html?

The World is his oyster.
Being reported in Belgium that we have beaten Arsenal to his signature, agreeing to pay £6.5m "Swansea City have agreed a deal to sign Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi from Standard Liege, according to reports in the player’s homeland. Batshuayi only renewed his deal with the Belgian club last summer when Swansea first attempted to sign the player but a clause in his contract was included which would allow him to leave for £6.5million. Swansea are now said to have met the said sum and will bring in the 20-year-old starlet on 1 July when the summer transfer window opens. Arsenal were said to be tracking the player last summer but no bid was made. The initial bid from Swansea for the player last season was estimated at £2.5million which was subsequently turned down by Standard. However, the Welsh club, which finished 12th in the Premier League this season, have returned with a bid which matches the player’s release clause and a move is all but sealed, according to Le Soir. The notion in Belgium is that the move has been pushed through as Swansea are preparing for life without star striker Wilfried Bony. The Ivorian will be attracting a lot of interest for his impressive debut campaign in England which saw him score 16 goals. Batshuayi has an impressive record at Standard, having netted 37 times in 90 matches for the first team."
It would appear that as long as he is a manager of a club with enough resources he will be back every single window trying to sign our best players. So far this coming window he has been linked with; Bony, Michu, Williams, Taylor and Vorm.
The Daily Express are reporting that although we have met the release clause for Michy Batshuayi.... he has rejected us (allegedly!) ....they are claiming he is holding out for Arsenal (Spurs and Everton been linked also). If this were all true it would indicate that we should have forked out more money last year....also a high profile manager who could go and sweet talk such youngsters would help also
If true, I hope the club don't go back if those clubs don't come calling. Scratch him off the list and look elsewhere. Its his right to wait and see what is on offer, but I don't like the idea of him changing his mind and saying yes later because a big club doesn't come in for him. Means he doesn't really want to be here.
If that's the case - good luck to him but I'd make sure he had a contact number for Aspas. Whatever Batsh it does I still think a better option would be Alfreð Finnbogason.
Gonna be confusing if we have a Michy to go with our Michu! Thing is, if he's being signed as a replacement for Bony, I don't want him - rather keep Bony.
18m my arse!!! So Joe is worth 15m and never scores a goal and Bony 18m and scoring for fun. You couldn't make it up!!!
Found on 'Sportsmole' A trio of Premier League clubs have reportedly joined the race to sign Reading winger Garath McCleary this summer. McCleary was in impressive form this season as the Royals just missed out on a spot in the Championship playoffs, and his performances are believed to have caught the eye of a number of teams. According to Sky Sports News, Hull City and Swansea City are both considering making a bid for the 27-year-old. However, they could face competition from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, while Cardiff City and Norwich City are also rumoured to be keeping a close eye on McCleary following their relegation from the top tier. McCleary has one year remaining on his deal with Reading.

Ash Williams' agent Jamie Moralee in the Post; "Ash's No. 1 choice is to sign a new deal at Swansea," Moralee said. "If he can get something sorted out at Swansea, that will be what he wants. Only if we can't make that happen will we look at option two, three, four or however many there might be. "This is the most important contract of Ash's career when you consider his age and that he has a third child on the way. "We know in our minds what we want to do — but we don't take anything for granted. "If the club can match the requirements of what we want, I'm sure a deal can be done."
Do you think we might be interested in a striker who has scored 9 goals in 11 internationals? If so, look no further than Iranian striker Reza Ghoochannejhad - currently of Charlton Athletic but has played for Standard Liege. Most of the goals were against Lebanon, Qatar & Thailand so it's not as good a stat as it sounds
Just out of curiosity, when does the transfer window open or can you sign as of the end of the season. I see clubs have already done buisness, but somewhere in the back of mind says June 1st.
