I seem to remember they targeted our wingers,Barry Jones and Jim MacLaughlan,kicking lumps out of them. Those two had tormented them in the league games.

Just 24 years before I was born... Fair play, excellent video and sound quality on that video! Amazing what remastering can do for old video clips. That winner for Preston looked like a real scorcher!
Actually, the winner was a total fluke. I'm speaking from memory now so open to correction but I believe the scorer was Tony Singleton the PNE centre half and it was his first goal in many years. He admitted that the ball broke to him in open play just inside our half and he just whacked it to clear the danger. The ball was caught on the wind and sailed past Dwyer into the net. There was no intention whatsoever to score - it just happened out of the blue.
Yes . I was there,on the coach going up I swapped my ticket to be with my mates so instead of being undercover I was on the open bank . The coach driver had lost his way and we arrived just before kick off.We had to climb to the back of the bank and were standing on grass.Pi$$ ed down all the match .Better side but robbed - Alex Dawson conned the ref for pen and Singleton did a Jonjo !(unintentionally).
Highly dubious, Terror. And, guess what, we had a better claim for a penalty rejected. Yes, it was happening even back then. For the record we beat Barrow 4-1 in the 3rd round, drew away with 1st Division Sheffield United 1-1 (I seem to remember that Herbie Williams hit the crossbar and the ball bounced down over the line but was disallowed) but we won the replay 4-0. Next up was 1st Division Stoke City where 2 Keith Todd goals (very decent striker) got us a 2-2 draw - Stanley Matthews scored for them at 49 years of age!! We beat them 2-0 at the Vetch in the replay before going to Anfield and winning that legendary game 2-1 against Liverpool. Three First Division opponents downed in that cup run after being drawn away each time. Proud to say that I saw every game. Point of interest, there was little or no fan segregation then and at Stoke we were standing behind one goal along with thousands of home supporters all singing City City Shake to the tune of Hippy Hippy Shake by the Swinging Blue Jeans. I've had some wonderful memories following my fabulous Swans.
Len Allchurch was in the Sheffield Utd. side,I seem to remember. Also,Dixie Hale,a real ex Swansea stalwart was plying for Barrow. Fan segregation was unheard of in those days.
