    From Skysports Papertalk

    • Chris Hughton is ready to raid his old club Newcastle for Danny Guthrie after last night being named Birmingham boss.

    • Bolton and QPR are battling it out for Newcastle striker Nile Ranger

IMO, it might be wise to hang on to Danny!! He can have Nile though - absolute rubbish and a bad attitude!!

I also still think that Routledge would be worth hanging on to for next season - certainly fits the mould of fast and dynamic!!

Well if Nile goes to any London club it will be bad move for him due to it being where the people he got in bother with live.

Danny Guthrie's availability could be dependent on the fitness of Dan Gosling.

The Routledge one really confused me last season, when we were using Joey out of position to cover the RM berth, sending him on loan made little if no sense...The only thing I can think is we genuinely want to keep him and wanted him to get some form?

Nile I'm not sure about - it depends on wages for me. At the end of the day, there isn't another striker in our squad who can come on and unsettle defences like he can - if it means keeping him, merely for that, he's useful and should therefore stay!

Brum would be a good move for Danny but I hope we keep hold of him.

Would hate to see Guthrie go, he's a class player.

Not fussed about Ranger, annoying because he generally had potential... however he is in a worse position now than a year ago, he is now 20 and hasn't progressed. I mean for 20 months now we've said he just needs a goal or 2 to get confidence.

Don't think Guthrie will get many games for us but that's reliant on Barton staying and as someone else said Gosling's fitness. Brum can have him but only if they take Perch as well.
Ranger and Routledge no great loss to us either.

Don't particularly like Guthrie, but he's good to have.

Ranger can go. His attitude is ****e, I can't stand his tweets. He's playing absolutely terrible, I mean it's like 40 apps 1 goal right? Doesn't need much more than that really! <doh>

I hope Danny does well at Birmingham.

Nothing against the guy. I'm sure he's the kind of chap who sends birthday cards to his Gran without fail every year. I bet he likes dogs too. An all round amiable fellow.

He's just not good enough as a player for us.

We have strength in depth in midfield so wouldn't be gutted if he went as for ranger I'd prefer we loaned him out so he'd get constant games but as pardew sees him day in day out it's obvious he doesn't rate him it looks like he's going.
