You said he was rubbish despite him being an England international etc ........ just hold your hands up, with dignity, when you're wrong man. You were wrong about Parker and wrong about Sunderland not winning games. You bet we'd go down and were wrong about that. The list just goes on .......... much like yourself.
Classic Smug, also loved it when she asked George Best "Did all that running around playing football make you that thirsty"
FFS man, just accept that he wasn't rubbish at that age. He was already a full international with 6 caps, won a trophy in Europe for West Ham and was ever present for Chelsea. You were wrong, I just can't be bothered with your endless wriggling and bullshit. My point is that you were wrong which you're always desperate to claim if you think someone else is. If there's no point why do you do it?
Disagree fella, he's developing well and still has a few years before he hits his peak imo. The season before he went lb he looked lost in midfield, since he has become half decent LB and a premiership midfielder, Perhaps if we didn't waste a season playing him out of position he'd be a better midfielder but I don't think his development has stopped, just don't see anything to suggest it has, if anything he finished the season better then he's ever been. He picked up a a goal in position he'd only just started putting himself in and consistently put in 85%+ passing accuracy in the last leg of the season. He's in demand for a reason, is was delivering on the pitch.
You make some good points tbh and I agree to some extent. My worry is that he's been a top flight player for quite a few seasons and his progress has been slow. If he'd gone in the last transfer window I don't think there would have been the concern there is now. If he's only upped his game to get a better move then he can **** right off in my opinion.

I think he's been a late developer, not helped by the stream of failing managers, every player is different. I think the way Gus plays football will benefit the final phase of his development, defo in his best interests to stay imo, I don't see a long term future for Colback, if we can get him to sign a new contract he'll be great asset in Gus's early stages of building his team. I'm hoping we out grow Colback and will be able to off load him for a decent fee in a couple of seasons time.
My gut feeling is that he's making sure Poyet's staying and signing some decent players and, obviously, trying to get a big wage increase.
Whe does he think he is like? He might be a good player but perhaps not as good as he (or his agent) thinks he is. I`m getting bored with him now tbh. Either sign or don`t but make his mind up so we can move on with or without.
Nail on heed marra ......... his type will always be in demand as competent box to box runners but his 'extra' contribution is limited. 1 league goal, or whatever it is, isn't good enough. I'd throw the question back at people ..... 'Would we be excited if we were signing the 'Cockney Colback' equivalent from West Ham?' Personally I don't think we would.
no I wouldnt. Colback is a decent midfielder, but not spectacular. Having said that we need a player likes him in the team, and if he goes its yet another new face to get in, more transfer fees to spend and more hassle to get them up to speed. Another midfielder with premiership experience will cost money, and a cheaper foreign midfielder might not work out (plus is one less "homegrown" talent to put in the squad to meet quotas) I really hope (and I have said this before) that we get JC, Larsson, Bardo on new contracts even if we sell them in Jan or next summer (2015), just so we dont have to mass buy and can concentrate on bringing in 3 or 4 quality players this summer.
You're right. We could only replace him with similar but who knows if they'd fit in? Bridcutt needs work doesn't he?
I think he'll be a star in the future, he's also one of the main reasons Poyet will stay. No time to lose though, he's older than Colback!
Just needs to get used to the league and let his confidence flourish as a result. Get the sense he's doubting himself a bit did he did walk into a sticky situation. Pre season will benefit a lot of our tiny squad too.
The lad came into one of the most difficult situations possible. His first real crack at the Premier League and looking sure to be playing at Brighton again next season. He must have some faith in Poyet.
has there been any news on this cos it just seems to be dragging on. we need to know one way or the other
