The two clubs have decided that their entire share of the matchday revenue should be awarded to the one who misses out on promotion and Barclays Premier League riches. When the minimum prize for going up equates to more than £130m the conciliatory figure looks a drop in the ocean but it is regarded as a good-will gesture and minor insurance policy. I think it's been unofficially agreed that the loser gets the gate money for a few years now. Read about that long before QPR and Derby agreed on it.
