Any body know whats happening with this? Wasn't the first phase due to begin this summer? With the recent announcement that the kings of Leon are to play the liberty in July, wouldn't this imply that the expansion is not going ahead this summer?

Strong rumours is that it won't be started this summer ., , we'll have missed golden opportunity if true . There be a few floating PL "fans " will be looking for their fix and now we're the only club within 150 miles or so from the next PL club we could have captured a few more hearts from the near far East bloc.

Very shortsighted by the board in my opinion. They probably could see the predicament we were in, and put the block on it. What I can't understand is that ground works could take place for the expansion, they could still put this on hold, if the situation deemed it necessary.

Taken from the Trust Minutes .

The Minutes of the meeting held on the 25 November, 2013 were approved. Supporter Director Report:
HC highlighted the fact the outline planning permission received for Stadium expansion was only the first step and there were a number of issues still to be discussed, particularly around the detailed implementation of the Travel Plan."

Little has changed I imagine , perhaps the recent announcement of the new link road to be built by passing the Hafod has some bearing on when it'll start ?

That road will take three years to build... somehow.

The minutes of the Trust are out dated the club are now in a position to build should they so wish. All the relevant planning is now in place. It is disappointing that we haven't kicked on especially that as promised, our neighbours up the road are ahead of schedule with their expansion which is currently being erected.

When I went in to the stadium on Monday to collect my prize, I was talking to the marketing manager about the stadium while I waited to have my picture taken. He basically said it's unlikely to start this Summer. Pretty much said that it's not as simple as getting planning permission and starting right away. I don't know exactly what it is we're waiting for as it wasn't really my business to probe deeper into such matters, but the feeling I got was that it's not happening this Summer. However, press releases have stated that the stadium expansion will not decrease current capacity during construction, so maybe it doesn't necessarily have to be done over the Summer.

The only reason Cardiff are doing their extension now is because they are holding the European Super Cup there at the start of next season. Their expansion will have red seats and is only there because of a game that will be played between 2 Spanish sides. I didn't think it was possible that they could sell any more of their soul, but they continue to prove me wrong.

    1) Congratulations. ( What did you win?)
    2) In all seriousness do we need it? Few games are actually sell outs.
    3) What will 30,000 empty red seats look like? Find out when Cardiff are in League 1.

    1) Thanks! Just some Swans golf accessories. (http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/comp-winner-golf-1564416.aspx)
    2) Possibly, we don't need the full 3 stages. I think we do need the first stage though, which is adding around 4,500 seats above the East Stand. 25,000 would be fine in my opinion.

Access, egress and parking will also have to be sorted.
Personally I think they should build up the car park behind the North to a 3 or 4 tier affair with access off the dual carriageway below the railway bridge and egress from the current entrance opposite Rossi's. It wouldn't block any views and would still only be just above the road line.

I thought the original plan was for there to be a railway station there as well.

The space across from the park and ride could also be turned into a a two or three tier parking area as well, again without it being an eyesore.

I know loads will park for free and with businesses locally but for people who have to travel some distance decent parking is a must.

There was a survey (Travel Plan ) sent out two years ago ( approx ) with a large section taken up with questions about parking and the methods used to get to the Stadium and where the respondent parked .So this will form the basis on how the expansion will take place as the situation at the moment is pretty dire and a mis match on the availability of controlled parking .We do need too expand even if we don't sell out for some games ,without it the club can't grow.

Surely the expansion can't go ahead until Rossi's have installed the extra deep fat fryer?

It's been years since I've been in, is there such a thing as the "Premier Rissole" these days? Has rissole technology moved on or is it for the traditionalists?

I was told that part of the scheme to get rid of Laudrup was that the club would reduce the wage bill and other 'associated costs'. It seemed that the easiest way of achieving those targets would be to employ a rookie manager with little pulling power in terms of players, who would aid in the achievement of relegation to the Championship and thus negate the need to expand the stadium.

Any problems with building the stadium extension is purely down to the club, planning permission is in place along with the parking and travel plans which have been ratified. Put on hold possibly but only a couple of months ago the board intimated that work would start at the end of the season and the new extension would be ready by the beginning of season 2014-15. What we need is clarification of what's happening, there are many potential season ticket holders waiting.

<laugh><laugh>..........fcking 'ell guys, that's priceless!!! I thought we had the monopoly on sour grapes....<laugh>

The only real fact you know is despite whatever convenient spin you want to put on it pal, ours is going ahead and yours isn't.

33,000+ seats for next season for us - whether we fill it or not is totally another matter of course. Staying in the Prem would have ensured that, but Championship games are unlikely to attract the plastic element that tops up practically every stadium in the Prem. I reckon around the 22/25K mark as an early season average, but if we're anywhere near the promo places later in the New Year, we could see some sellouts.

Attendance figures will always be argued about, and you're stuck with around 20K max at the moment, but as far as the actual stadium expansions themselves are concerned, we're getting ours as promised - just hope you get yours. <ok>

What's the point of expanding the stadium then?

Have you heard a combination of red + blue kit is REALLY lucky? Surely that's what Cardiff need to concentrate on for next season.

I mean, just look at Barcelona. They play in red and blue and they win everything.

    Oh hang on.......
