I've had the no-drink itch and can't sleep...Didn't think my results would be out 'till tomorrow (technically today) so arranged to get injections in the morning, hence the avoiding alcohol...

    EDIT: Favorite film?

Tough one, a film I watched the other day and was blown away by was 12 Angry Men...It's an old one, in black and white and all filmed entirely in one room, but it is actually amazing!

Surely we don't both work for the same company.

That's a nice way of putting things, I'm sure NWPJ feels a lot better for that.

I watched one at the weekend. Called Cabin Fever (we were in a cabin, so we thought it might be a larf). It was relatively okay until the end when I just have no idea at what happened. I literally sat there open mouthed for 5 minutes trying to understand.

The plot is about this fever that hits these campers, anyway they all die from it, as it's in the water they drink. Then right at the end after some cops dump the last guy that died (Christ knows why they had to dump him in a lake?), this scene just comes out of the blue:

When I was a kid I didn't like B&W films but now I find they have much more character and enjoy them a lot more than recently made films.

    ????

It's like the film company said "look if we want this to sell we need more humor and more street attitude...You know, like Sister Act 2!"

Away from films, what TV series could anyone recommend?

    Gone entirely through:

    The Sopranos
    Breaking Bad
    Sons of Anarchy
    Spartacus
    The Wire
    Game of Thrones

    Stuck for ideas now?

Didn't think I would have liked the Sister Act films, but I really enjoyed them.

Great film! It's tough to pick a favourite single one really; going to cheat and throw in 5: Vertigo, Taxi Driver, Ladri di Biciclette (great old italian realist film), The Maltese Falcon, Requiem for a Dream.

Good inspiration for a question here then, which film has the most ****y ending? (And I'm not talking pornos where the ending is quite literally '****y'.)

Not much of a TV person and hardly ever have it on except for sport, but I did enjoy The Sopranos.

5 films would be easier to do.

    Couldn't choose between this lot:
    A Clockwork Orange
    2001: A Space Odyssey
    Pan's Labyrinth
    Full Metal Jacket
    Buffalo '66

    <ok>

If you didn't watch The Shadow Line, then watch it. I thought it was great (not actually watched the last episode yet though). Comedy-wise, How I Met Your Mother, yeah, yeah I'm sure you'll say "comedy-wise don't you mean [insert witty retort here]-wise?" but it is great!
