I wonder if we could make this a sticky? Anyone with any up-dates on whether this is going ahead could post on here. What's the latest, anyone know?
One minute past midnight on Saturday suggests Friday night/Saturday morning to me. I hope I'm wrong though. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/tran...-threat-for-bank-holiday-weekend-9397685.html
Wembley stadium has Chiltern Line trains that run out of Marylebone and onwards to Gerrards Cross/High Wycombe/etc
This clarifies it is 12.01am Saturday unfortunately http://londonist.com/2014/05/possible-tube-strike-over-bank-holiday-weekend.php
Just got off the phone with my sister and because it's the guys that deal with the power, there's talk of them switching the power off. If that does happen there will be no trains anywhere. I'm hoping that it's just bluster from the strikers but it could also be face saving from management when they say the service won't be effected. Also it might be the case that management may try and cover the strikers. I guess we will just have to keep a very close eye on it. Edit:I have just messaged a mate on facebook who my be able to get me some insider info on all this. Watch this space and if I get any news I'll get up on this thread asap.
There is alarmingly little information at the moment. I suggest we all keep a watching brief on the news.
Just had a look on BBC london web page and not a thing mentioned about this........There wasn't any mentioned either on the beeb london news reports on tv this morning.....it's all very strange..... Anyhow I thought they had to give notice of strike action and more than the 5 or 6 days that they have given for this week end or am I wrong on that?
I'm kinda hoping the lack of publicity means it won't happen, on a bank holiday I imagine it would be all over the news. They had a meeting yesterday but haven't heard the results yet.
Why are they striking? They get 60k a week for literally doing nothing, nearly all the trains are fully automatic now.
Just spoke to a friend (works in the industry) who says they are in meeting with ACAS today as well, they will be emailed with an update tomorrow morning, if I get the info I'll pass on.

Good news but this is not definitive. My very good/old friend that is very well connected to london underground has asked about and has sent me this on facebook....... "The general feeling is that they will keep things running with managers manning the desks. You can never tell with these things! I think you will be ok matey."
To be honest, it shouldn't be a disaster for most. As has been posted, the Chiltern line goes from Marylebone station straight to Wembley Stadium, then it's less than 3 miles to Kingsbury (cab or bus). If you can get to Central London you will always be able to get a black cab to Marylebone. Coming the other way, my suggestion is Denham station (5 mins off the A40), then 1 stop to Wembley Stadium.
What about from Liverpool Street station? I'll be getting the Stansted Express? The tube is the only way I know of getting around London.
If you're coming from the north then the London Midland or Overground from Watford to Wembley Central is regular and decent. Coming the other way it starts at Euston so an option rather than the bus.
