Sounds lovely. Seriously is it a better quality of life than you'd have back in the UK? The mrs wants to move abroad permanently, I don't think I'd mind but I'm not just gonna go to any old dump and end up wanting to get back to the UK.

    Impossible to answer mate.

Read the news, now i'm supposed to be in a country under marshall law, militaty all over. Well thank you UK media for filling the world full of ****.

I would say it's a ;ot different with a missus in tow, and a lot more thought.

At the same time, i don't own a jacket, nor nothing long sleeved, but weather means nowt.

If i did it again there would be several options. NZ for one...Maybe Gib.

I have an `02 VW Passat 1.9 diesel. I`ve had it 9 years and done 134,000 miles. I used it for my pet food business and had it loaded to the rafters twice a week. Once calculated I had 364k (aye, it`s an ordinary saloon) in there. Barely room for me and almost scraping the deck and it`s never flackered.

How I haven`t managed to break it I have no idea. I`ve certainly tried.

In all that time, apart from the normal wear-out things (brake pads and the like) the only thing I`ve had to replace is the water pump.

That car has paid for itself 20x easily.

A couple of months ago it went straight through the mot no probs.

It may be boring to you lot but until it gives up, I`m keeping it.

I used to love me Golfs Vince, had 8 of them.

Mark 2 Driver when I was a young un, the a mark 2 GTI 16v, onto a mark 3 GTI 16v, then a Mark 4 V5, that I hated, and went back to a mark 3 VR6 (my favourite car EVER..), then a mark 5 R32, another mark 5 R32 (facelift, different colour...) and finally, a Mk 1 GTI that me and pappa bear are gonna restore, which is currently in bits in a lock up in Hendon, ha.

    Great cars mate.

Well where I visited I'd move there in a heartbeat but I'd imagine I'd get fairly bored in Samui after a while, and unless I was retiring there didn't seem to be a lot of opportunity. On the other hand, I've been to Bangkok and I'd never move there, despite it being a favourite of mine I couldn't live in that city, it's just too ****ed up. She's on about the US now, reckon I'd go for that.

I've more than had my share of some right knackers mate, being a single dad for so long my budget sometimes stretched to buying cars from mates in pubs!

Now my boys have grown up I'm spoiling myself.

When you're an old fart like me and your kids have flown the nest, you'll get what you want, not what you need!

My last car was an X type. Loved it, was my first "me" car.

I gave it too my 19 yr old son for next to nothing.

Now he drives around in a middle-aged mans car thinking he looks the bollocks <laugh>

I paid for 14 people's drinks for about 10 hours of drinking and it came to £120 in Samui mate, and last year in Vilamoura I spent £190 on 4 cocktails. The over-priced part is lost on me!

The main thing if your reliant on it for your income is reliability, and you rarely go wrong with a VW, bar Mk 4 Golfs, that were ****.

I had no idea, thought it would be about £8-10 per drink, nothing worse.

Trying to be a big shot in the marina, ended up feeling like a ****ing idiot. Saying that Smug probably paid that for one Espresso where he used to live!

They are an amazing piece of technology, but the price is insanity, and the world still needs to do a lot to support electric cars, as well as vice versa.

I wouldn't have one personally, but I fully understand people who are behind them.

I'd have a VW tomorrow mate, although I wish they'd jazz up the inside.

We're looking at Golf's for my missus, and they are bland as **** inside, I know that's not what they are about but the equivalent Ford or Audi just feels more special inside, and the inside is what you see, in simple terms.
