No they can't. Some are settled in various parts of the East stand and enjoy viewing from the side and have no desire to be part of the 'ultra's' thing. Not all are getting the option to move yet. Plus, the timing means there isn't an opportunity to meet up and sort anything. We meet people at half time and have spent our time at the stadium building a community around us, watching kids grow and friends die. Now, they'll be split around the stadium, in stands we can't get to. They'll end up pissed off walking right around the ground to get to the walkway, so pre/post drinks will dwindle too. It really is a naff idea. The ones that can't see the problems seem to be those not affected but hoping to enjoy the atmosphere created by the Palacesque performing seals.
You're not really putting up a strong enough argument on this. Saying that people are settled isn't really a good enough reason I'm afraid.
I'm peeved at being evicted out my seat. I hate being behind the goal. I'm 100% up for creating a better atmosphere, but the way the club have just lumped it on us with zero consultation is very crappy. I'm hoping I can some how move in e4 or somewhere around there.
E1 here. Can't wait to move to the north stand and be behind the goal just as I was at Boothferry park when my dad first started to take me to games.
We NEED YOU in the North Stand Mr casual making loads of noise I hope you will move and that applies to all the loud ones
I,m looking forward to moving to Nth stand I,m ex E3 and am now N4, should make for better atmosphere. The banter with the away fans should also be better with ex E1,2,3 on one side and E4 upwards on the other side of them. yeah I,m looking forward to next season...
Not really. The whole thing is ill conceived and could have been so much better, but ultimately those of us affected know we've no choice but to make best of a ****e situation.
Isn't it just a case of you can't please everyone ? Some love the idea Some are neutral Some Hate the idea. I see this as a chance for ALL those in the stadium who sing and shout and make noise all joining together in the north stand . Loads moan about the lack of noise, singers being spread out in different areas. NO excuses now Get in the North Stand and let's get the noise level turned up
No, it's not really a case of that in my opinion. As it is, E1 -E3 sing and the noise travels down the stand, sometimes it goes the other way, now it will always just stop. Songs were sometimes shared and discussed at half time and before/after games, this will reduce or even stop as people can't meet at half time and could find alternative drinking holes rather than walk right round the ground. E1 used to be right next to the fans, now they're not so banter will be reduced. Irrespective of my own situtation, I genuinely think it's a naff idea. The north stand could have been made the singing section without the rest of the bollocks.
With respect you can't say that it will just stop. You don't actually know what will happen, no-one does. It might be fantastic. You're just being a negative nelly. I even saw it posted somewhere that E1-E3 were being moved to behind the goal because then they can only see one clock instead of two for when it's 19:04. Do you people not have watches/phones with the time on? I mean, really!
I never mentioned anything about a conspiracy, and you pick one comment, disagree but offer no support. Agreeing blindly with something, for me is far more negative than pointing out the potential pitfalls from the off, so they can be mitigated against.
I never said you said anything about a conspiracy. I picked one comment you made after you asserted what would happen (wrongly, as you can't know what will happen), and I disagreed saying that the opposite could happen. Highlighting pitfalls is one thing but you're saying them as if they are going to be facts set in stone about what will happen.
By the same logic, you can't say the opposite either. You've chucked a few silly comments my way over this and offered nothing to support any of them. I take it you'll be buying a pass in the north stand then?
It's easy for people to defend it who are not affected by it. Some people have sat in them seats for the last 12 years and there being chucked out them with hardly any warning and no consolation.
I have not said they will happen, I've said they could. Big difference. My comments are no sillier than yours. You commenting that I've made silly comments is a silly comment. You've offered no support of any of your claims either. Just conjecture. That's all anyone has to offer from which ever side you're on. I have been moved once already. Not by choice. If I had to move again I would. I don't have to so I won't. Would I be that bothered if told I had to move? Not really. I see more positives in things that happen rather than the negatives.
To me this seems a stupid, not well thought out plan with zero consultation and just something to distract people from the price hike.
So you're not moving then. So it doesn't affect you. As it just being conjecture, I disagree. It's my opinion based on a decade's experience and watching some changes within the ground. Don't just assume because there's not more detail added it doesn't exist. However, ignoring that, as previously the chant effectively passed from person to person (or group to group) along the stand, and even noisy fans in the north west corner couldn't be heard from E3, how do YOU reckon the noise will still travel along to E4 when there's a half dozen blocks in between now?
