    Footballer Akli Fairuz Dies After Horror Tackle.

    Indonesian footballer Akli Fairuz has died following a horrific tackle from goalkeeper Agus Rahman.

    Indonesian Persiraja striker Akli Fairuz suffered internal injuries and bladder leakage following Rahman's waist-high lunge.

    After he took the kick to his body from the PSAP Sigli goalie, Fairuz was substituted and watched the remainder of the match from the bench.

    However, after he was admitted to hospital he took a turn for the worse and passed away a few days later.

    What you would call a really bad tackle.

    From what I gather and remember, didn't a similar thing almost happen with Shay Given?

    He got clattered by our old mate Marlon Harewood, accidentally, and suffered a ruptured bowel which by all accounts could be just as critical if not treated swiftly.

    Terrible news though and thoughts to his family. Shocking.

    I also feel sorry for the guy who tackled him. Stupid tackle but he doesn't deserve the hate he'll probably get now.

    Not only his family and friends, but the goalkeeper must be going through complete hell too.


    Our non-Newcastle keeper McGregor suffered a pretty serious injury vs West Ham, nearly had to have a Kidney out, but that is nothing on this.

    The scary thing is, you see above-waist boots often, this just shows how deadly one could be. Remember Xabi Alonso in the 2010 WC Final?
