    This bit is particularly good...

It was, of course, barely noticed by the television commentator for ITV, who seemed shamefully biased. Clive Tyldesley spoke as if narrating an Arsenal movie, repeatedly going on about how long the fans had waited for a trophy. Nine years? If Hull had won their fans would have been waiting for more than a century.

ITV sees football as a drama involving six or seven lead characters and 86 or so extras. Hull were cannon fodder to the commentator. They were champions for the rest of us, fans of one or other of the majority of professional clubs who never have a hope of winning anything.

The trophies rotate among a cartel of super-rich clubs whose fans seem to live in another world. Arsenal just took slightly longer than expected to get their turn, slightly longer than their sense of entitlement allowed. The club's bleating about nine years of hurt was silly and insulting to the rest of us - but then the gulf between the likes of them and us is at the heart of what is wrong with the game.

Brilliant. Now my entire office thinks I have hay fever...which seemed a better bet than claiming I've just peeled an onion, when I clearly haven't.

    A very good read.

This comment from an Arsenal fan just emphasises the journalists point.

'Are you serious? As an Arsenal supporter, I watched to see my beloved Arsenal win the game. Who is interested in watching a love in between father and son. Perhaps you should watch the family channel not a football match. No wonder Bruce's son got injured with his fellow players kicking lumps out of the Arsenal players. Ten fowls in thirty minutes, called euphemistically rotational fouling! Spare us the stupidity, we pay to watch a football match.'

That was a good read, the bit about the trophies being passed about the rich clubs made me laugh, although it does of course fall apart when you consider Portsmouth and Wigan winning the FA Cup in recent years and Swansea winning the League Cup.

Also, did Bruce Jnr get a cap for NI before he joined us? I thought he switched allegiances after he signed? About halfway through his first season with us?

That's a very good read....Have a look at the comment from the Arsenal supporter in the comments section. Most of them seem to feel victimised by the media...they're a precious lot.

I watched the ITV highlight show on ITV Player, the biased commentary did make me feel sick to my stomach. Also I watched the build up (Interviews with Ash and Deano) Watching Chiles talk to Ashbee like a nobody riled me.

this annoys me. the stats from the match are quite clear. Arsenal 65% possession, Hull City 35% which translates them having the ball for 78 minutes, and us 42. Arsenal 17 fouls, Hull City 18. That means we committed a foul every 4.33 minutes, and they committed one every 2.41 minutes. So who was the worst offender?

Great read. To be honest it felt that the whole team were part of one big family with the City fans. We all have traveled on this journey and it was simply one of the proudest moments that I have had. Standing applauding and cheering a team that lost a game as if they where victorious doesn't happen often in sport.

Great Article. I am really proud of supporting Hull and feel privileged to be a supporter of what I believe is a 'real' team. We have literally seen it all and bar a handful of professional teams no one can admit to that. A top four team will never feel the same feeling as one of us, the feeling of complete despair being at the bottom of division three to climbing to the Europa League. United, finish seventh. Worst season forever. Incredible. I could never change city even if they were in the one millionth division. Thats the difference

Yep. I distinctly remember 2 of the guinea variety, a partridge and a handful of hens early on. I remember sitting there thinking "What the hell is going on?"

Just need the FA to tell our current owner to ram his tacky name change idea and the unity would double.
