Wasn't that the only race Panis won, though? And to be fair only having three finishers that day was a big help.

Perhaps he was better than Coulthard, but clearly he didn't generally have the car then, so let's say Panis was an unlikely package at the start of that race.

Panis pre crash at Montreal in 1997 was a real rising star people forget some his drives for Ligier/Prost before then which were excellent. Brazil and Spain 1997 were superlative drives from Panis can't help feel how his career would have panned out if he had not had that crash, he certainly lost something after it happened.

Can't see past a Merc win and I'll go for Roseberg. I expect the RB's to be much closer and the circuit to reduce the deficit for McLaren.

    Gone for Rosberg again.

Reading comments about Olivier Panis makes me wonder who was the best French driver to only win one race?

Will that have an impact on RBR performance or involve any difficult changes?

On a separate note this weekend, many references to 'mechanical grip' being the key. Mercedes aside, which teams could also show up well as a result of good mechanical grip, and which teams do you think Monaco will hurt?

From what I read, Ferrari (at least James Alison) say their strength is actually high speed corners this year. So Monaco could potentially cause them an issue? Red Bull were very good in the slower sections of Malaysia and China, whilst did McLaren supposedly design based on good mechanical grip and 'not just bolt-on downforce'? They have been better at sharp tracks like Bahrain and Melbourne and struggled everywhere else. What about Williams? I think they might have their best weekend yet.

Ferrari have been useless at monaco for many years now. Interesting the car that does do well at monaco usually does very well in the championship. Ferrari take note!

I thought Ferrari were supposedly better suited yo front limited tracks? Would this not be of benefit at Monaco?

    Cheers BLS!!!

Rosberg is a Monaco specialist. Nobody will overtake him from lights to flag.

But they're awful in slow speed corners, traction is poor on their cars.

Moanco is mostly a mechanical grip / chassis track. Downforce doesn't mean much when most the corners are at a snails pace.

One of these days one of these predictions will come true, by the law of averages. Probably not this one to be fair.

Unless there's a whole lot of rain. And maybe a meteorite strike that takes 20 or so cars out.

He'll have the last laugh, when he enters the record books as the first driver to have a tyre wall named after him.

Naaah. That's not Super Maldonado Kart. Not nearly enough air and I'd say that boat is possibly salvageable.
