...as in, House Music, what we play, what keeps me in Diesel jeans and San Miguel, we have started doing a monthly chart, which we are gonna be distributing via cd at our nights (licence permitting...) Here's a link, any regulars will no to avoid if they have no taste.... http://soundcloud.com/scotty3680/its-notre-is-it-june-chart Now, for those exiles of ours who are based in the Saaaaarf, we are launching in London at the start of August (get us....), obviously we can't say where on a public forum right now, but feel free to PM or add me on Facey, and i'll spill the beans! Those who listen, enjoy, those who don't? You smell. All the best kids!
Not my kind of stuff but its playing while I do my mails etc, I do like some techno, so have put it into faves, and will look from time to time, hell there might be a few that I will put on my car cd. all music is worth a listen.
Totally agree there Bill, music should be a passion. There's no such thing as bad music, just stuff that you like, and stuff that's not to your taste
Hope you enjoy it mate, there's a few mixes on there from the last week or 2, feel free to share with anyone who likes that kinda thing
Not my cup of tea but a few old school songs!! I'm more of the Rock generation (Zeppelin, Free, Deep Purple etc) and play the north east pub and club circuit but there's a couplke of tracks on there that'll be cool to listen to
We play stuff back to '89 mate, when we play live we drop bits from bygone days in, and we use a lot of samples and loops from music of all genres, we can't put stuff like that onto soundcloud recordings though, as they can be removed for copyright infringement (if some sad twat reports it). I'm into all kinds of music, just that House is my true love, but there's more and more rossover all the time, guitars and live instruments are commonplace in House now, if you like rock music, i guarantee you'll like a lot of electro, it's a very 'rocky' sound.
You're probably right BB - I like quite abit of the stuff you've put on that link (been listening over my lunch break whilst browsing the forum!!) I just wish I had time to see more live acts nowadays - family and work seems to be 70% of my life, 20% to safc and the other 10% sleeping (or trying to as a 9 month old baby girl doesn't always let you do that!!)!!!! Definitely give it more of a look and I like some of the techno stuff from the late 80's early 90's so will definitely have a look and listen.. Am writing a bit of my own stuff but time is again something that doesn't give me much chance to record anything (and money!!) but hope to have something sorted in the near future
If you get anything done, send it to me, my sisters in a band called ESO, they are doing canny, playing as support for someone (who i can't remember...) at the 02! I can get your stuff listened too, for sure
Fantastic mate - I might have to knuckle down and speak to our keyboard player to try to get some recording time booked in then!! Much appreciated
Really like that and your other stuff. I have a network the size of a very small spider but me brother enjoying your the links too keep it coming mate!
If you sign up for soundcloud (it's free..), you can just hit follow and it'll notify you when there's new stuff added. We are going to do a live broadcast on radio over here, a 5 hour beach party, we'll be uploading the best bit's of that, and we are planning an event with a fullset of live musicians accompanying, strings, brass and vocalist, we're gonna video and youtube that, but the venue will probably hold the license for it. We're trying to be something new, rather than just another night, the mixes and charts are a tiny window into what we are trying to build, really just to showcase that we are cheese free and will never sell out to 'music by numbers'. We're really excited about the London thing, but we have to get everything right, there's so many good nights down there.
I live in London BB. Haven't had a decent rave in a while, prob cos people thought I was havin a fit while chuckin done moves. Let us know when date is n will bring along a decent crowd.
Certainly will mate, it's gonna be 6-8 weeks, minimum, London and Marbella are kinda linked, so we're hoping once we get fully up to speed here, we will get a stronger foothold in London. It's wonderful to make a living doing something you would happily do for free, but the best thing is feedback, it's great when people appreciate what you're doing , that's first and foremost what it's all about for us!
Am being dumb here. Have signed up but cant see follow. Clicked on favourites but not seeing follow on that link! EDIT click on scottys name and follow.... knew I was being dumb!
You have to search for me (scotty3680), and click on 'people' in the bar when it's searched, if you click on my profile 'follow' is in there.
Aye not wrong fella, find something you love n you won't have to work another day in your life.....so they say.....apparently it's a crime to twat a mag tho!?!? Just noticed you're 31 BB. I'm just turned 32 so same era! Good luck with it all n lookin fwd to a good night out in a few weeks.
Cheers mate! Facts are there will always be a market for quality house music, we will provide that, and we'll give it a twist and a bit of originality, we'll be looking at doing something new every night, not resting on our laurels. It's my passion, so i'll be giving it all i've got!
