To be fair, he should have at least been called, but he's done little for Leeds this season

Don't you love it when these guys go on twitter, tell everyone there are shocking goings on behind the scenes but of course can't say any more. What is the point of that and surely an ex player would be best keeping quitet

Here's hoping ....

Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP 21m
More from Cellino in tomorrow's YEP. Says he will seriously consider quitting Thorp Arch permanently if he can't bring down the rent + cost

Seems to makes sense, surely he could find another training pitch
gym etc or build a new one.

As for the Ranieri links,he's out of work we have an italian owner, can't really see much more than that.

The one thing that makes me wonder is how long we're locked into the TA contract.

Anyone remember how much it is to buy it? I remember we lost the chance to buy it for £5m, but not sure of its value now.

In fairness to Toure, he spends a hell of a percentage of his wage donating to various charities around Africa and has a lot of interest in that part of the world. As fair as rich dicky footballers go I wouldn't class him as one, haven't seen anything about his birthday thing though.

Your figures are probably well out but you still make the same point that Bates tried to make every time he sold one of our players. Remember when he went and run down what Gradel was actually sold for and how much of that Leeds actually received in the initial payment. Makes you wonder why teams agree to these deals

This is another thing Cellino is trying to do to make Leeds a cheaper club to run which will hurt us in the long run imo. Only thing is he is bringing it to the fans in a way that means they will accept it, its what he has done every step so far.

Josh, why will it hurt us if he gets the rent down?

Couple of things

As already mentioned I wouldnt expect VAT on a players sale or purchase, and again this can be offset anyways, so wouldnt really count.

In addition, no matter what position we were in with regards to the transfer, I wouldnt expect us to be paying both agents, surely the purchasing club would pay one fee, and the selling club pay another.

So that's £2.3 m saved

Furthermore whilst I accept that the whole of the transfer fee may not be paid in one lump sum, I wouldnt expect it to be spread out over 4 years, more likely a 12 month period, and there is nothing to stop us saying we want the whole sum up front anyways.

So if we sell Ross for 8m, we lose 2m due to agents fee and bonuses etc, we are left with a net figure of 6m, of which 3m is paid up front.

The club knows that over the next 12 months they have a further guaranteed income of 3m, and thus that in a way is used as collateral to provide further funds if need be for purchasing of another player of say 2m, or else our majority shareholder can put 3m of his own money in, knowing that he will get that back in 12 months.

So for that new player we have to pay another agents fee of 1m, that still leaves us with 4m or 5m to use as actual transfer fees.
