Except the commentator will mention the supposedly interested club every time Adam, Rickie or Luke touch the ball.

As good as done, so they'll at least be talking about Shaw as a MUFC player eh Fran! ;)

I don't really get this from a Man U angle. Shouldn't they be spending that money on the other three defenders they actually need, and then beg Evra to stay for another year? Or are they actually going to splash £100m and a load of 5 year contracts everywhere? If their back four wasn't quite a bit worse than ours then that kind of investment would be perfect.

The only thing about £33M that I don't like is, its going straight into the recoup fund. Anyone who thinks the lions share of that is going back into transfers is going to be disappointed.

We earnt a lot of money last season...any outstanding bills can be met from that or the debt can be spread over a longer period. We need a bigger squad...a decent sum has to be given to the manager, whether it is Mauricio or an incoming manager. I'm not expecting mad spending, but investment is needed now. I'm expecting 2-3 players to be bought from any sale (though I appreciate more money is needed to pay the extra wages). There is no sense in selling Shaw otherwise.

He's a kid...his family will sort that out. The article suggests his family is moving too.

They've really been incredibly supportive of him. I know his wages would mean he could easily look after his parents financially but thats a huge uproot for them as I expect they're settled in Surrey

As someone who has played with Luke when he was young and still lives in the same town as him, I can confirm this, he has a good amount of friends he still sees down here, as well as his parents always seem to have tens of people round their house every weekend. On the subject of housing, I know for a fact that Luke recently bought a house (new-build) for his family to move into in his hometown, was on the market for around £1mil. , whilst this was sometime last year, make of that what you will!
