Lee Cox has signed a two year contract to come to Argyle......played a handful of games last season for Swindon...some from the bench.....lets hope he will stay fit this time.....certainly not favoured at Swindon during his time there.

Certainly favoured here though Plym. I suspect those who have seen him will be well happy with this signing and I think that is good news number 3 now. Keep up the good work Sheridan and it might be a decent season next term.

Don't think I've seen this guy play but I do seem to remember he got decent reviews when he was with us before.

Yeovil have today released four players.....one being Reuben Reid on a free transfer......rumour that Portsmouth are interested with an offer.

I hope we can afford to offer him enough to keep him at Home Park.......I dread to think who will score the goals if we don't.

I think Reid was out of contract this season end so was bound to be free. We can only offer him within the wage structure which I'm assuming isn't mega bucks for anyone. Anyone who wants him and can afford a couple of grand a week will get him. You can't blame Reid if he follows the money. You can't spend sentiment.

I'm well known for not wanting PAFC to overspend but if the club don't go to the limit of what they have for Reuben Reid, then it will be significant. Leaving aside Reid's goals (which you can't of course as Plymborn says), he never fails to give 100% in the battle against his markers even when things aren't going well. If the club aren't convinced that makes him a must-have, I don't know what would.

The trouble is notdistant we have no idea what "the end price of affordability" is in the wage structure for Argyle. I'm saying that I don't believe there to be mega anything around at Argyle so we could/would get priced out of the market by anyone showing any sign of ambition. Yes they should look to push the boat out a bit for Reid but I have doubts they will. It does indeed speak volumes if they don't.

Unlike a lot of people I suspect, I'm more or less willing to accept the management's word that they did what they could but couldn't match a better offer, if that's what happens.

However, that will be easier to believe if he end up going to a club in a higher league and/or with bigger gates than us!

Looks like Dan Gosling is returning to the south coast.....out of contract at Newcastle it looks as if he is on the way to Bournemouth.....no not Argyle we couldn't afford him.....although he probably isn't the same player he was going to be......maybe injury prone these days.....his career never really blossomed to the potential that he showed when young.....a shame.

Deane Smalley a striker signed from Oxford....he scored 9 goals last year...two against us.....he has worked under Sheridan before.

Hope this doesn't mean that Reid might not be returning.

    PS.....35 goals in 230 matches.....mmmmmm ?

Reading between what lines? What is the budget and how does it compare to any other club? These are the questions we were debating last season and nobody knew the answer to any of them. We have no idea at the moment if Reid has been made an offer, if he has whether he is considering it or has chucked it out as being not good enough or if he is just on holiday perhaps and hasn't been offered anything by anybody. When he signs for somebody else then I will believe it was a better offer than we made. He has had one good season in a fair few seasons now so I'm not holding him out as a beacon of our future anyway. I'd quite like him to sign it's true but wouldn't weep buckets if he didn't.

As for the new boy, I will do what I do with all rew recruits. Wait until he has kicked a ball a few times in anger and see what he does with it.

Paul Wotton has signed a 1yr contract as a player/coach......Paul has got his coaching badges and this will be his last season has a player....he does realize that his playing career from now on will be only now and again when there's a job he can do for the team.

Hi Lads....been to the Rock for a couple of weeks and jolly nice it was too!

Paul Wotton deserves nothing less and for sure he will put a halt to any mishandling of the club while he's about no doubt!

One thing that can be argued this season so far is that Argyle have been proactive in the signing things. In previous windows of opportunity they have left it and left it until it became a panick.

Take it "the Rock" was Gibraltar Hp. Spent 2 years living there in the 70's when the border with Spain was closed due to the Spanish not liking us much. If I'm honest I didn't like it much but then again I was working most of the time for a right git of a bloke so it kind of soured it somewhat. Never been there as a holiday maker. Drink was cheap.....

But 12 goals in 28 when he played for Sheridan at Chesterfield. As Sensible says, we shall see. I have to say I thought the 2 strikers that played for Oxford at Home Park in April were absolutely outstanding Shame we can't sign them but not surprising Smalley hasn't been retained.

    Also:
