My ticket has gone from £21.95 per game, which I paid in the championship, to £27.83 for premier league football and a team being properly invested in. I would say a rise of £5.88 per game is a very, very reasonable increase for the massive rise in the quality of football on display.
According to the OWS you should receive a letter by May 25th outlining the new prices and you will have until July 1st to renew.
Taken in isolation I agree, but a combination of increased tv money, sponsorship and gate receipts is what the club needs to show, in order for it to be compliant. We have to show annual accounts and projections. If we reach the wages ceiling of 52m we can only increase player wages by 4m per year unless it is covered by commercial revenue. The increased ticket price would for the first year be a projected increase in revenue and will give us more to spend on players wages without penalty. under FFP regs how else are we to stay competative?
"with no plans to increase the capacity of the KC, a price rise is the only viable option in terms of increasing revenue from ticketing." It's the council's fault again.
Talk to the council and increase the size of the stadium. Put the away fans in West Upper in the South West corner and charge them the same as the West Standers. Develop the land around the KC in partnership with the council (I accept that this wouldn't bring in as much as I first anticipated but Norwich City's hotel brings in £500,000 a year), stock the club shop with stuff that we want and get some decent sponsors on the back of our exploits this season. A more balanced business plan could have seen a staged increase in season ticket prices over the next 3 years as we consolidate our position in the Premier League.
We also got moved about 2/3 years back as they wanted our seats for players/staff. We didn't get a choice and had to move, we though we had the best seats in the place. So we moved and we have a nice community around us now. Took a while to get it mind but it's there now.
Twitter again full of muppets who cant be bothered to read the actual facts, blowing up a storm of bullshit, giving it all the Allam out crap :/
Charging as much as we can get away with, while still filling the stadium, is a reasonable approach to maximising revenue. The question is, will this achieve that? The pricing of matchday tickets at £50 for top teams and £16 for the bottom teams is obviously an attempt to encourage people to accept the higher season ticket prices, as it's still far better value than cherry picking the games involving the better teams. It has the added benefit of forcing up prices for away fans, which is fair enough as they charge us much more than we charge them(though I'm a fan of fixed ticket prices for away fans at all Premier League games to remove this issue completely). If the increased prices stop people buying season tickets, that also impacts on the revenue from elsewhere, as club shop sales and in stadium sales also drop(the club shop offer should be addressed as a matter of urgency, it's currently appalling). It's obviously not going to change now, so we'll find out shortly what impact it's actually going to have.
If the move is for the benefit of everyone then I can't see how you can complain. I've sat in other places at the KC at times and yes I agree it's not the same but then it's not your seat that you sit in every week. It's that familiarity that we all like. But that will come when you move eventually. If it doesn't then you can always move to somewhere different. What type of consultation do you want exactly on this? What outcome would you expect/like from it?
It was just behind the dugout actually. Sat with the guy who looks after the refs during the day, and the physios/medics.
But Obi as you know the Norwich City hotel loses money. If the KC was developed it would not generate any profit for at least three years. We dont have time for staged increases. The club shop could and should generate more income and sponsors should be paying more. Away fans in e1 to e4 is fine by me
We didn't sell the whole north stand to away fans. There was 1500 or so seats for home fans in the North Stand. Wonder where they'll end up.
Moaning gits will always find something to moan about. I mean how dare AA charge premier league prices for premier league games. Those mentioning past quotes from Allam (Pre premier league IIRC) need to answer this 'Did Allam expect to be £60M+ out of pocket when he made those quotes?'. Those mentioning the 7% don't seem to realise that it's not a fixed figure and it can actually go up. Instead we get 'It's all to get back at the fans I tell thee' as if it's nothing to do at all with trying balance the books and get more revenue in.
They were matchday tickets, not season tickets, so it won't really make much difference, in fact they will probably have more choice on where they buy matchday tickets now.
Just a thought. I've never sat in the North Stand at the KC but would consider the move across. I'd feel more comfortable making the commitment if the club allowed unreserved seating for the first season. I might get sat next to a right muppet, and they might think the same about me! Point is unreserved seating means if you want too you can move, it encourages people to get in to the stadium earlier and you can sit/stand with your mates. Could be a good idea for a trial period. As for the price rise. We are still getting Premiership football cheap. Now if they knocked the price of the beer down to £2.50 - £3.00 a pint. They might sell a bit more ?
