Does anyone know Steve Avory's contract details?

And is it true Paul Hart is off?

Much of this I think was pretty common knowledge I think so textbook Cawley.

Green will find a club of a decent standard in League 1 because of his fleeting ability and the fact he will be able to hide his lack of actual footballing intelligence in that league.

Pritchard was always going to happen, thanks for the running Pritch but we need better in order to progress.

Cort could have been the perfect old pro for someone like Gomez to play alongside in the development squad next season, but his injury record and being another year older make releasing him the right decision.

Dyer was always going to leave, he is Powell's best mate and said as much after the Blackpool game.

New contracts for Matthew and Roberts is the interesting one, both seem to be good young coaches and to my eye deserve to be retained.

Well said <cheers>

I am glad that RD has not thrown the baby out with the bathwater, and has recognised Damien Matthew's talents.

Neither mentioned by Rich Cawley, although I believe that Paul Hart has turned down 2 contract offers from us.

Me too, a good friend was on a coaching seminar a year or so ago where Matthew was guest speaker. My friend was extremely impressed with Matthew, his methods, philosophies and how he came across.

He also mentioned during his talk how much of a nightmare to man manage Jonjo Shelvey was because he knew he was destined for the top although he conceded all players that 'make it' have to have an element of such arrogance.

Richard Wood has got a one year contract. This has been auto activated from his previous contract.

@RichCawleySLP: Harry Osborne will sign new 12-month deal. Defender had been out of contract.

This all fits in with my earlier updates -

Matthew will become JR's assistant.

JR will be signed up on a two-year deal before Monday.

Dyer will be reunited with Powell at either Blackpool or Brighton, but the North-West is looking the more likely.

A string of signings will be ratified by Matthew at JR's behest.

Young Poyet will sign for his Old Man but then come back for a year-long loan.

It is all coming together. :D

Just a question mark remains with Poyet Sr, momentum is gathering he is stalling on a new deal and a London club is beckoning.

Ponders - are these updates based on inside info, or your own personal theories?

This would rather contradict Ponders view.

‏@DiscoEnergy 1h
@RichCawleySLP you heard anything about Rigas contract?

Richard Cawley ‏@RichCawleySLP 34m
@DiscoEnergy Expectation is that he won't be back.

But creepy Cawley has been wrong in the past.

I have to say I will be mightily disappointed & not a little bit puzzled if Riga does not come back, especially given a. the job he did and b. he has been explicit that he wants to return.

No surprise with this news... The only people we'll see from now on, will have to fit in firmly with Roley's network...

No Championship experienced manager here, that for sure... Unless it's Riga of course...
Why is this decision taking time..?

Expect RD now to come out and say this was always the plan and the lookout for a manager had been going on for months previous etc etc

If the story is true.

Because our next manager is still employed by another (foreign) club? Any new manager will effectively be starting from scratch in terms of learning about the club and the players. It will take months, and all seems hugely counterproductive. I think we have to assume that Riga hasn't got the job, with STs to be sold they would have announced it by now.

Whether it be Spurs, West Ham or Sunderland, Gus' priority is to sign up his lad.

Gus Poyet said a year or two ago that his son Diego was better off at Charlton and in the Championship for a few years.

Can this alleged change of heart be interpreted as a comment on the perceived 'instability' at Charlton now?

Or is it just that Diego Poyet has developed quicker than planned and that Gus wants to pin him down now before everyone else catches on?

And why am I writing like a monologue from a 1940s pulp Detective?
