I myself never tip for anything. Not deliverymen, waiters, bar tenders, barbers, bookies (ridiculous this one), postmen, milkmen, prostitutes or anyone else who thinks their job title comes with special treatment. A girl I know who works at the turnstiles at Barnet FC once told me a guy once tipped her a tenner, for nothing. I don't see why I should directly be paying someone else's wages when they do not work for me. It is up to their employer to pay for their wages. If they think they are paid too little then they should take it up with their employer or find a better paying job. It's not as if they are going out of their way to help me. They are doing what is in their job description. If you tip people then fine, but it should be considered a privilege, not a right. Does that make me a cheap ****? If you think so then yeah, but I'm not going to tip someone who threatens to do something to my food/parcel if I don't tip.
I tip and I'm a southerner. Tipped £20 once at a meal because they deserved it. If I asked I'm sure they would have whipped my arse.
Once on a stag-do in Lithuania and we tipped the waitress 3 months wages. She was shocked more than anything!!
I'll tip if the price is 1 or 2 quid off a round number. I wouldn't go out of my way to tip anyone though.
depends on service really. I went into a place for a meal, needed a glass of water (had bought drinks etc) and they charged me a £1 for tap water. No way they are getting a tip I worked in restaurants when studying and although some of the tips go to staff some dont. In one very plush place the tips were shared 70/30 in favour of the kitchen staff. Tips are for service provided I dont tip taxi's but if its £3.80 I dont wait for the change. Used to do the same in shops etc but they are twats when it suits I remember i was 1p short in changing a coach ticket, I had to borrow of a stranger because they wouldnt let me off. 1p It was the coach stop in southport which also doubles as the tourist info office. That made it worse
I got asked for a tip after dinner by some cheeky waiter last week, I told him 'not to plant he's corn too early'
I leave 10% if they are adequate and 20% if they are very good, nowt if they don't keep my pint full.
would they not also be yonner's? if they live in the yonner towns that is? yonner is your name mohammed?
