Not really, they didn't drop when we got relegated either. That only works if you were selling out your games and we haven't been, a problem that will be compounded next season when we have a fixed 2,500 away end(rather than option of giving Newcastle/Sunderland 4,000 tickets), we'll end up with 20,000 gates for some games next season. And our merchandise sales are already naff all, we have a blind dog in charge of product design.
I'm quite sure you'll find sommat to be "disappointed" about regardless. This seems more like a reasonable increase rather than a significant one. I appreciate it will affect some fans pretty badly, but that's life unfortunately and as its been pointed out, some people claiming poverty were perfectly able to afford similar costs for the weekend. Every time there's an increase it will put the availability outside of someones reach, but the club has to do these things in this day and age. It's not nice but it's needed.
You can say they're too cheap but we don't sell our ground out except for the big games anyway. Last year it was near enough capacity but still not turning people away. Next year we'll see a drop in fans. From the outside, you simply wouldn't believe how little interest our club has in increasing the fanbase. The PL is currently still a novelty for us, but it'll wear off gradually every year we stay up starting now and the fans who get priced out won't be replaced. Allam has gone on all season about how insignificant the fans are and we only account for x % of the club's revenue. "It's not about the local fans any more it's about the TV audience" etc. etc. Now suddenly he wants loads more money off us? Riiiight.
I'm with you. We've a good crowd near us, but I'm resigned to move so that others can enjoy watching the performing seals old style football fans have become.
an older more wealthy type support like whats happened at other clubs....say goodbye to any hope of ever having a atmosphere inside the ground....a 30% odd increase stinks !
Am I gonna have to queue for hours again to get a decent seat or are they just gonna shift everybody round? I'd rather not sit behind the goal, I'd rather not pay more (though I'm not really against it), but I'll probably end up going like a mug next season anyway. If it's **** I'll jack it in and do something else with my Saturday afternoons. I'm feeling more and more detached from the club and I can't shake the feeling that Saturday was meant to be a "final chapter" as it were.
Nice attempt at diversion, I'll try again, should a 30% price increase be accompanied by an assurance that the name change is now to be dropped? As we've been told, we fans don't have a say, because we now only account for 7% of the club's income. This will have very little effect on the club's income, if it has any effect at all, but it might affect peoples ability to attend and the amount of support we have in the ground.
No it shouldn't. If the owners feel its worth pursuing, and handle it better, they can do what they want, how they want and not be dictated to by what is still a minority. They have no need to give anyone at all any assurances about it. Actually, even if they did, we'd still see the conspiracy theorists on here in full swing, so why bother? They'll do what they've done from day one which is try to run the club in as efficient and proper manner as they can. I do not believe whatever increase is put onto season tickets will affect the gates of our games or the amount of support we have. Whatever they decide, name change or not, announcement about it or not, price hikes or not, fans like you will still find something to be "disappointed" about and will complain. Not much they can do about that. Clear enough for you?
A case of can't please everyone . Iv always been e3 or e1 Have always wanted to be in the north stand and having it as our 'kop' end . I like being behind the goal but I wouldn't go in the south stand .
And back onto the roundabout we go. He put the money in, he can do what he wants story again. As he said supporter revenue is only 7% of income, the small extra gained by raising ticket prices could easily be wiped out by the numbers not renewing their passes. Thought he wanted cheaper football for the fans, or was that another lie, Mr I never go back on my word read my CV
I'm not pleased about the price increase but I'm not devastated. However, if he increases ticket prices and continues to pursue this name change bollocks he's a bigger **** than I imagined. It's one or the other, name change or higher prices, not both.
Oh? I'm now the spokesman for the Allams? Grow the **** up. You asked for my opinion, and you got it.
I think I speak for many when I say I am "disappointed" you are still posting your snivelling pernicious Quisling dribble. Just one question: are you an elaborate WUM or just a clueless turd?
