At least Giggs retiring means we won't hear that dreaded line from the commentators any more; "only player to have scored in every season of the Premier League". Have they discovered time travelling without telling folk or something?
Very good appoinment in my opinion. Got plenty of experience and a winning mentality, good job Utd. Not too sure of what I make of Giggs being assistant manager, surely Van Gaal should have brought with him some people he's worked with before and gained success with - time will tell, but just seems a little odd to me. Or maybe I'm odd? But overall very good appointment imo, and to think it completely came out the blue just when everyone was thinking Rafa was going to be your saviour.
I'm just gouing to pretend the whole of last year never happened...........................So now, Fergie has just stepped down, the club have announced LVG as the new manager with Giggs as his number two. Our job now is to get behind the new manager......................... How much better does that sound, this was how it was supposed to be. Now we can forgive the odd blip because we know what this guy is like, we know he wants his teams to play attacking, uncompromising football. All I hope now is that Fergie sticks to his speaking/teaching tours and leaves LVG to get on with it. Light the blue touchpaper - we are off on the mad ride of LVG's time at OT. Can't wait for him an Maureen to go toe to toe.
Now we have a better chance of signing Cesc Fabregas with LVG at the helm and Barca reportedly ready to listen to offers.
Zanetti was a great player, difficult to compare him to Giggs as Zanetti was a right back. 145 caps for Argentina, what an amazing achievement for an outfield player
