Cellino has employed a team of forensic accountants to investigate the club’s finances after advisors told the Italian it was ‘the worst mess they’ve ever seen at a football club...

In case anyone is unsure what this means:

"The work of a forensic accountant is to enable lawyers, insurance companies and other clients to resolve disputes. Equally important is the ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely in the courtroom.

Forensic accountants are trained to look beyond the numbers and deal with the business realities of situations. Analysis, interpretation, summarisation and the presentation of complex financial and business related issues are prominent features of the profession. A forensic accountant will also be familiar with legal concepts and procedures.

Public practice or insurance companies, banks, police forces and government agencies are the common employers of forensic accountants..... "

    This could be amusing/interesting

Of course, Mr C may be mistaken, but you can't help wonder if he has found something he regards as being either illegal or actionable (such as a misrepresentation of the facts during the takeover). That may be wide of the mark of course, just a wild guess, but one can be certain of one thing - its never dull supporting LUFC.

.... Ken Bates was such a diligent accountant that any hint of financial irregularities would never cross anyone's mind.

PSD, how dare you bring Ken Bates into this, I doubt anyone else has even considered this could be about something going back to his time

Incidentally, with regard to the lady who was suspended, anyone have any idea when she was appointed?

She was certainly at the club in 2010, but in a different capacity.

Please address any initial enquires to Alison Royston (Head of Football Administration) at Leeds United Training Ground, Walton Road, Thorp Arch, Wetherby, LS23 7BA, telephone 01937 884410 or e-mail [email protected].

Forensic Accountants are used in many ways (used a few myself)

Damages calculations suffered through breach of contract,
    Post-acquisition disputes,
    Bankruptcy, insolvency, and reorganization,
    Fraud,
    Business valuation (Due dilligence)

He could be using them for any/all of that <ok>

Finally, i'm so happy this is all happening. I have heard Cellino say many times "we're broken, but can be fixed". Everything he has done so far has fit in with that ethic. I mean we had the dodgy cnut Bates earning a living from us, then GFH who didn't really have any idea what to do - I mean, what a mess those two must have left us in. If it weren't for Cellino using his own money (not loans :D) to sort this **** out I could have lived to see Leeds United die a painfull death - Massimo is the CPR, that we desperately need.

I feel sorry for the staff that we're sacking (genuinely), and those poor players only having 28 days holiday (I'm playing the worlds smallest violin right now). We most likely will not go up next season, but at least the players will be fearful of their future. I want them to fear there future, there playing for Leeds United. They should be scared.

No more Mr. Nice Guy. Fu*k em all, they should want to play for Leeds, not because they can get a fat pay check for minimal work. I mean, they should really want to play for Leeds United.

No player is bigger than Leeds United - even though Ross McCormack might think he is at the moment. He isn't.

Am I right in thinking that amid this run of losing £1m a month, GFH managed to make £4m? I'm sure I read that somewhere. Can anyone confirm?

Cellino is having a run at GFH, he wants to get the other 25% of the shares on the cheap ... if he can successfully dispute that the club was over sold via accounting evidence (costs hidden. debts not disclosed) then he has a shot ... this is just "Cellino Tactics" and we should get used to the fact that nothing he does is normal, and he he will push, prod and antagonise to get what he wants ... personally I'd just like him to shoot straight rather than from the lip ... his "woe is me" tune is starting to grind, and he should stop whining about buying Leeds and how everyone and everything is against him and rather focus his energy on driving us forward in a positive manner

Agree and it still isn't clear how the 25% investment works, if for example Cellino were to buy back ER does GFH have to stump up 25%

ristac, as I understand it GFH are still being disruptive behind the scenes, and Cellino hasn't yet got total freedom ... remember, Cellino made himself President because Salad is still Chairman ... I would imagine Cellino's biggest problem is that there is a clock on buying the 25% at an agreed (inflated) price, and obviously at an even higher price if we get to the Prem

Actually they're probably the easiest to con, as is being proven as he's only just realised it.

On a side note, this can only be good for you, despite the fact I can't stand Leeds I still think you should be in the Prem and am surprised you havn't recovered from the Ridsdale years yet.
