My dad was a cool dude on the quiet, at least before my mum forced him to cut off his quiff. His record collection included Sidney Bechet, Chuck Berry, Jelly Roll Morton, Luis Armstrong and most of early Beatles and Stones singles. Not sure what got into him when he started bringing home Mungo Jerry singles though. I'll put that one down to a mid life crisis.
My folks had pretty good musical taste, still got lots of their old 7 inch singles , things like the original I fought the law by the bobby fuller four , stagger lee by lloyd price, glen campbell, early Rod, Elvis` first two albums, original pressings etc. The stereogram never felt like a painful experience as I grew up
Mother had some good records, lots of 60s/70s hit singles. LPs: Sergeant Pepper, Elton John, Tyranosaurus Rex, Phil Collins, 10CC and others.
