Walker is injured...is missing the world cup (if he was selected)... Sandro made it clear he wanted to play... Capoue wants to leave cos he wants to play but wasnt being selected... Vertongen definitely dont give a **** about the team imo Dembele is a mystery to me...could be fantastic but rarely is better than good and is normally frustrating and soldado is playing in the wrong team for his style imo

Tim would be an interesting appointment at Brighton. Brighton have got where they are with a mix of older players reaching the end of their career, loan signings and some youngsters. With the Sherwood emphasis on youth he would get the chance to build his own side. He could include a few loan signings from say the Spurs youth players and it might turn out a win-win situation all round.
Capoue's had run ins with a few managers, I think, but as far as I'm aware the rest haven't and have all been made an important part of the team by several previous managers. Maybe Sherwood is right and these players all turned into lazy twats overnight but I'm going to go with form and assume this is not the case, or at least that it is not as simple as that. The only players that have come out in praise of Sherwood have been the ones that weren't getting games previously, with everyone else the silence has been deafening.
As for potential managers...If Real lose the CL final its quite likely Ancelotti will become available, judging from the Real president's disgruntlement with the league campaign. Not saying he would come to us if he was available but id like that idea to have potential..so come on Atletico!
Or the theory that if they lose to Atletico, then Perez will buy Suarez (as the "Galactico" nonsense seems to work well in placating their plastic sheeple support) .
I really want Capoue to succeed here, I think for whatever reason he had a harsh bit of treatment from Tim. He reminds me of a Yaya Toure type, box-to-box and very powerful though doesn't have the finishing finesse like Yaya (though which midfielder does?). With the right coaching, he could be come a real beast of a player and who knows maybe even work more on the finishing aspect of his game. Even though I'm not sure how the formation would go, a CM trio of Sandro, Capoue and Paulinho (still a fan of Dembele but I think those 3 CAN become better as individuals and a unit) could be an opposition's nightmare, strength, tenacity, stamina, aggression, goal threat... It's mouth watering on paper for me, with them behind Eriksen, maybe Lamela and a striker, it's a tantalising prospect. It would leave us short on the LW but if we could find a new LB who can attack and defend equally well, I think it could work. -------------Sandro -------Paulinho----Capoue Lamela----Eriksen With the left being occupied by the marauding LWB plus Lamela and Eriksen drifting, I'd like the idea of seeing that. I've always been a fan of players interchanging positions so while it may look lopsided to some/ many on paper, to me it makes sense lol.
I don't think Capoue has shown anything to suggest he could be a Ya..never mind a Yaya. Cant shoot, cant dribble.....and if that's what we want we have Sandro...
I think Capoue will be much better too, especially if our new manager gets us playing at a high tempo closing down. If we go with that 3 in the middle I'd see it as the otherway around when we don't have the ball with Sandro leading the closing down and Capoue and Paulinho each picking up a man behind him. A bit like how Milan had Gattusso chasing the opposition down and Pirlo sitting deeper.

He comes across well in that interview, and I found myself agreeing with him, more than not. However - and here's the point - he was talking like a man who had lost the dressing room. Now, whether that is something that is ever to be excused (remember how poor old "gentleman" Roy was forced out of 'Pool and how AVB was hounded out of Chavs by Fat Frank, John "iron my hood, bitch!" Terry and Drogba (the Jacques Cousteau of the Togo)?), is, for me, highly doubtful; but any manager who loses the dressing room clearly - and whatever the reasons - never going to cut it at that club. Whatever were the reasons for the tonkings we received under Sherwood, the road that lead to them began a long time before those matches started.
It was interesting how he ignored his touch line rows with managers, throwing a ball at the gooner player, how he changed his mind about it being better to sit in the stands after being criticised for it, how he failed to beat all the decent teams we faced barring everton, how sandro weren't good enough for the squad one week but was the next and for the remainder of the season, how he was out thought by 2 managers no longer in post (wba and norwich) plus twice by fat sam and how he has stopped claiming that his record was good enough for a top 4 finish if he'd been there all season once it had been poubted out that this was not true... he would have come 5th ... the interview was bollocks imo as none of these things were brought up.
Changing the subject slightly, it seems we're not in any hurry to sign Sherwood's replacement so does anyone else have a slight inkling that Mr. Levy might be monitoring matters down at Real Madrid? With them surrendering La Liga to (what is considered) a far lesser (and cheaper) squad across the city to Atletico and with the CL final to come, I do wonder if Ancelotti will still have a job come next week if he again loses that to his neighbours. Surely the Real board won't tolerate a double defeat to their nearest rivals, Barca aside? With the current names in the running being Poch, De Boer and Rafa, I'd personally rather take Carlo over that lot and I think he'd fancy a go at Spurs. Having spent a few high pressure years at Chelsea and the pressure cooker of Real, the "project" that is Spurs might just suit him perfectly. If Levy can just find it within himself to go for a "proven" manager and not a "rising star" and actually give him time, we could end up with a top class manager who i very much rate. Make no mistake about it, Levy is under serious pressure and he must be feeling it. He knows he has to get this appointment right. One more season of instability and going backwards won't be tolerated by Joe Lewis for much longer. He has to get this appointment absolutely right this time so I suspect he's going to wait quite some time, possibly even after the World Cup has ended. Thoughts chaps?
Yeah this is Levy's biggest appointment here at Spurs I think, so he needs to take time and look at all avenues before making a "rash" decision. Ancelotti would be an amazing appointment but I can't see it happening. I think Real will stick with him regardless of the CL Final outcome. The 3 main names we've been linked with are all good managers in their own right and I wouldn't be disappointed with any of them taking over, though ideally I'd probably go for Benitez as my top pick, even though I banged on about de Boer for ages, I just feel the Prem/ top European level experience is what we could do with here at Spurs. Though reports the other day did say Benitez is looking for a long stay with Napoli, so depending on how accurate that story is, could rule the fat Spanish waiter out.
Its fine to wait til after the world cup as long as that doesn't make our better players edgy about whether they want to stay or not. The squad, despite last season, does have quality and i'd rather get someone in before the world cup so the players can be "yeah, i'll have some of that next season" or "nah, i hate that chap i'm off". My number 1 wish is that we get our business done early with both manager, ingoings and outgoings so we can have a proper pre-season where the players and manager can get up to speed so we can hit the ground at least walking rather than being out cold.
