What's the chance that they're leaked and we get a sneak preview in advance.

I'm expecting great things which is probably foolish given it's a football shirt. Fingers crossed for a Premiership badge on the sleeve

I hope not, hoops too thin, hoops on sleeves and not proper hoops.

That's everything wrong for me, the only way it would be worse would be even thinner hoops or a collar.

Only saving grace is the lack of red lines where the blue joins the white. Hoops are too narrow and aren't hoops and shouldn't be on the sleeves. Collar, Nike logo and shade of blue are nice though.

Tony Fernandes takes over football club Queens Park Rangers
A takeover of QPR, whilst rivals Lotus Group sponsor Norwich City FC

This is F1Minute - Tony Fernandes takes over football team Queens Park Rangers.

Team Lotus chief Tony Fernandes has completed a deal to take a majority stake in the Queens Park Rangers football club. Fernandes was spotted sitting next to former Renault boss and now former QPR owner Flavio Briatore at the team’s opening Premier League game. Unfortunately, they were trounced by Bolton, 4-0, and Briatore did not stay until the end of the match.

Fernandes did stay the distance, and has talked of his excitement at the new venture: “Talk is easy, but I’m either zero or 100 % and I’m going to put my maximum into this. I’m very excited. Whether we win or lost, even if it’s 4 or 5 one week, I’ll still be there to the end.”

It’s perhaps also worth noting that the Fernandes’ owned Tune Group sponsor the Match Officials for the Premier League as well.

Meanwhile, their Group Lotus rival have been confirmed as sponsors of the Norwich City Football Club, with a five-season partnership beginning this year. Dany Behar said of the deal: “No one can deny the global appeal of football and this partnership with our local heroes Norwich City Football Club will provide us with a new platform to talk to future Lotus fans.”

QPR owner Fernandes prepares to bid farewell to Team Lotus

    Lotus

Tony Fernandes will this weekend bid a sad farewell to Team Lotus but he is convinced he has served the name proud.

After beginning life as Lotus Racing at the start of last season, and in the iconic green and yellow livery made famous by founder Colin Chapman, owner Fernandes switched to Team Lotus this year.

However, behind the scenes a battle for control of the Lotus brand was being waged in light of the decision by the car company - run by Malaysian giant Proton - to sponsor Renault.

The messy, expensive wrangle ended up in the High Court, with both sides claiming a victory of sorts.

Fernandes' purchase of another much-loved British sports car company in Caterham offered him an exit strategy, a way of avoiding further legal ramifications.

It means from next season Team Lotus will be known as Caterham, and Renault will revert to simply Lotus, avoiding further confusion as both will be supplied with engines by the French manufacturer.

Ahead of Team Lotus' final race in Brazil on Sunday, Fernandes said: "The Brazilian Grand Prix sees us saying goodbye to Team Lotus, with our stewardship to come to an end in mid-December.

"In our short time as custodians of the brand we have had highs and lows, but the fundamental point is that we brought Lotus back into Formula One, and we did it in the right style.

"We have built up our Formula One team and all our associated businesses from a starting point of an empty factory in Norfolk in just two years.

"Now we have secured our future and are in control of our own destiny, and therefore we have achieved our first goal.

"So after this race we will say goodbye to Team Lotus with very fond memories and then we will look forward to next year.

"That is when the Caterham F1 Team will signal the start of the next chapter of our very exciting story."

Chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne believes it is a sign of the team's progress that development has continued to the death as for this final race both cars will boast a new rear wing.

"Our race pace has been good all season, but we have not been able to match that in qualifying," said Fernandes.

"The update to the rear wing is designed to help us do that by improving the efficiency of our DRS (drag reduction system).

"Because DRS can be used anywhere on track in qualifying our performances in Q1 have not matched our race performances where DRS usage is limited.

"The new system should see us close the gap in qualifying to the cars ahead compared to the previous races.

"Last year we had stopped development on the car halfway through the season and this year we have new parts right up to the final race.

"That is how we will be operating next year and for many seasons to come."

Maybe I'm a little left behind new trend because .................. I love the current shirt and see no need to update it.
The size of the hoops are perfect, the red piping is great, the only real issue I have is the shiny material and snug fit shows up the rolls of fat that one tends to endorse at 50 odd years of age.
