Malky wouldn't be the most inspirational appointment IMO notwithstanding the fact that other than Dave Stringer, we don't have a great record with ex players becoming our manager. Really wanted Lennon to come in and shake up that dressing room personally, then again I was pleased when we appointed Hughton so what the feck do I know ! <laugh>

Yes - betting on managerial changes is a relatively small market - it will only take a small flurry of bets to tip the balance.

lets also put to bed this nonsense about how him being an ex player somehow makes this a safe, obvious, little old norwich move.

it doesn't. he will not come cheap. the fact he has ended his legal pursuit and taken on the chin all the bile his former clubs owner has thrown at him in order to take over here should also not be tossed to one side - that shows commitment to us (and if he was taking him to court in the first place you have to believe he had a decent case). he would be at the top of the list of any club who happens to be in our position next season. damn it, he's even being linked with a possible vacancy at southampton! he's been approached because he is a very good candidate, not because he is ex city.

it may be that his city past has helped us get him to move here but its not the main reason why he's being appointed - he's been appointed because he offers us the best chance of promotion. now let's all get behind him and the club. its embarrassing seeing so many fans slagging him and the board off over this.

no scratch that - its f**king pathetic <ok>

supers, you would hope and expect any GENUINE fan to get behind the manager, we have all witnessed how badly anything less has an effect on our proud club!

Just because he's not my first choice, I know it doesn't make it a bad appointment. Malky has a good track record in the Championship, so hopefully that will carry on with us and I really hope he does well.

that's the most sensible way of viewing it. of course some people would have preferred a different manager. i wasn't overly fussed between mackay or lennon myself - both have strengths and weaknesses - but for some to slag him off before a ball has been kicked does show some people up (nobody on here from what i can see). i've even heard of people claiming they are requesting their season ticket money back! good - i hope these people never set foot in the ground again. i mean seriously, what were they expected? jurgen klopp???

Don't get OTT supers, Norwich fans are pretty reasonable. They were just expecting Simeone

There is definitely money to be made on those markets, with the odds often swinging wildly one way or the other you can easily hedge your bets and make a profit whoever gets the gig - unless of course someone comes in from left field, which didn't ever look like happening with us.

Paddy Power had closed the market this morning, but have reopened it and Malky is currently 2/5, the shortens odds anyone has been at any time. Someone mentioned Lennon was 1/4 the other day, the shortest I saw him was only 8/15 and that was only for a couple of days.

I can understand people feeling underwhelmed if it's not the manager they were hoping for, but to ask for their season ticket money back is just crazily stupid.

These people who have already made up their minds about him will now never give him a chance which is just wrong. You don't have to like the appointment, you just have to get behind him and at least give him a chance.

Malky wouldn't be my first choice as I have previously stated but that doesn't matter I will get behind him, after all he is a club playing leg-end. To contradict myself somewhat, I would like to say also that if the football next year turns out to be hoof-ball or whatever (and I'm not saying that it will be), I really won't give a toss as long as we are winning. In this division it's all about getting the job done to reach the promised land once again in my opinion.

Turgid plus victories = acceptable, turgid plus defeats = unacceptable and discontentment. <ok>
