Both doable and a bit of a coup.

Yep. It's messy there, but utterly doable should MP leap.

Yeah there might be a small fee involved but it should be pretty easy to get all parties to agree to. I should say at this point I'd rather we kept our current manager, but this would be a very satisfying alternative.

Under Tuchel Mainz tends to press high, hard and often, but their formation changes regularly...part of his appeal is that he's been able to throw variations out, tailored to his opponents, and have them work. I'd take him or another Bielsa disciple (though I'd obviously rather keep Poch), but I want no part of a manager whose primary appeal is that he's English and favours an English style of play.

Peach says Tuchel is joining Schalke anyway, so never mind.

Simon Peach says that regardless of what happens with Mauricio this summer, David Salas isn't going to be back.

    That's a shame.

Awful news. Does that mean he'll be doing pressers in English, or will he be finding a new toyboy? If so, I hope they put Fran on the interviewing panel, she'll be heartbroken by David leaving.

Bielsa has just taken over at Marseille which puts this article straight in the trash can.

As for Sherwood, to take a line from some Spurs fans on this saga. I'm afraid Sherwood does not have the experience to manage a club as big as Southampton. He should be championship level at best.
He managed to talk himself into the supply teacher role at Spurs, but then forgot to shut up. Incredibly his talking in interviews and slagging off of players managed to mask his inept tactics. The press seemed to blame Spurs disappointing season on the players, but it was the quality of the squad which won them as many points as they did.

Yeah destined for the trash can, my comment related to one of my earlier ones where I tenuously linked Poch and Valencia based on comments from here, which then appeared in the People. It is all bull **** and every paper just seems to be going round in circles because all they have to go on is rumour. Which a lot of it probably comes from fans forums.

If it's true that SIX or more of our players were really that good that they were being aggressively chased by bigger clubs at the present time, one wonders why the players themselves wouldn't realise they could achieve a lot lot more by sticking together. Surely they'd individually see and respect the talent of the other 5+ players of that standard. On that basis, I'm calling BS on this 'article' in it's current wording. The only way we'd ever sell 6+ is if KL genuinely was trying to sell the club piece by piece for a maximum return on her father's investment, and I do hope that isn't so.

At this stage, it's all paper talk, but could be very expensive paper talk in terms of forcing our hand in any new contract negotiations.

Anyone know if "Cody Cropper, Lloyd Isgrove, Sam McQueen, Omar Rowe and Jake Sinclair have been offered new contracts having all been involved with the First Team this season" means they have actually signed said contracts or just been offered them? That would be an additional PR disaster if it literally meant they had been offered but then did decide to turn down....

Was there not a statement made a couple of weeks ago that none of the first team squad were for sale, nobody is leaving if MP wants them in his squad. Or did I just dream that?
The press obviously do not read the official reports that come out of St. Marys, just make up more and more BS.

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/footb...o-marching-out This article by the express is so poorly written, are their reporters still at school? It has the quality of writing expected of a 12 year old.

There was a somewhat mushy statement that we do not need to sell, but no indication that we won't sell. I'd be very surprised (and, obviously, delighted) if we didn't sell any of our first-team players.

What does "a source close to the club" mean exactly?

That could be the landlord of the pub down the road from the stadium or the tea person (note the use of a gender free term for this function).

The phrase makes no reference to the status of the source whatsoever.

Conclusion? It is a load of paper selling bullshit.

The best part is that they think Clyne is going to replace... Sacary Bagna. Lol.
