And how many players did he alienate at Spurs?

When he smiles he looks like Joffrey.

He's one up from having Redknapp back for me, and there, ladies and gents is your bottom two. Next up from them is Barry Sanchez, let's put it that way.

He's like Redknapp but tactically worse.

He slagged off the ones who weren't trying hard enough or the ones who publicly insulted him. There's nothing wrong with that.

I know Sherwood comes across as a bit of a prick but he did get results at Spurs and he gave young players a chance (Kane, Bentaleb). He wouldn't be my first choice if Pochettino left but I wouldn't rule him out.

In all seriousness, if we're resorting to Sherwood as a possible replacement, we really do need to be asking questions of the board. MP may be going, but we're still an attractive proposition for an incoming manager.

No manager should slag of players in public by name.

Exactly. He's done little wrong with Spurs and certainly didn't deserve the sack. I think he'd be a good fit for our club philosophies.

This is like when we sacked Pardew and Sky Sports told us we'd hired Paul Hart. That was the worst hour of my life :(

But players can publicly slag off a manager?

I'll only be happy with Thomas Tuchel at this point. Spoke to some Mainz fans and they think he'd be perfect. They say he's better than Klopp. He also studied anglistics.

Been saying Tuchel for a while now. Done wonders with Mainz and wants to move on (though board are blocking it by all accounts).

Didn't say that did I? Sherwood is a PR nightmare, we are trying to build ours back up. Having a manager that sorts out personal arguments through interviews etc would go down well....

We have a good formula here. Even if Poch leaves, we ought to be looking for a manager who favours similar tactics, because the high-pressure five-man-midfield clearly works with this personnel. Sherwood, beyond being a nitwit, loves him some 4-4-2. It would be a recipe for disaster.

    In the People:

Pochettino has a year to run on his contract at Southampton – with a £2million buyout clause – and has other options to consider, with Valencia and Marseille also keen to take him.

This is included in the main article of complete tosh about Sherwood coming to us.. ha ha

Kind of defeats the point of the modern philosophy of football we've been trying to bring through from top to bottom, eh? I dunno what formation Tuchel plays and I'd never heard of him until a couple of days ago but now I've never wanted anything more in my life despite knowing almost nothing about him. I mean obviously I'd prefer Pochettino to stay, but you know.

    They've hired a new manager.

He seems to be in some weird limbo situation where he doesn't want to be there, he isn't showing up, they're not paying him, but they won't terminate his contract and there is a year left on it.
