get your point i would rather lukaku than bony, but Lukaku would demand first team football where as Bony is probably less likely to.

bit like being linked to vorm, considering he is first choice at a prem club, why would he want to be, maybe backup, to someone, yes bigger club, but to improve you need to play.

I would like Lukaku, but he would get the same game time as he would at the chavs, unless one of Suarez or Sturridge got injured.
    As for Bertrand, no thanks
To Sir Red, I would guess the likes of Shaqiri.

I hate to bang on about it, but Lovren is a must buy out of the players we have been linked with.

He is young, talented and a good organiser. If we get him he will be the new Carra/Hypia, first pick in defence for years to come.

  5. Re; Vorm... If he is confident in his own ability he should believe he isn't joining just to be a back-up

So you say Vorm won't move from first choice to back up, but Bony will? Doesn't make much sense...

Lukaku would get game time. It annoys me when everyone says, well they aren't going to displace Sturridge or Suarez. Why not? What's to say those two will have brilliant seasons again? What's to say one of them won't get injured again. How we'd love to have has another player of first team quality to come in when Sturridge was injured for 8 weeks. Everyone moans about us not having squad depth but then argues we don't need quality forward to challenge the front 2 and interchange.

    makes perfect sense,

vorm is first choice Bony is used a lot as a sub, so will be less inclined to complain about it, simple really.

your 2nd point doesn't make much sense either, no one is saying we wouldn't want Lukaku, but he is good enough to be first choice at a lot of clubs, yes we can get injuries to players, be a brilliant replacement, but he would not displace either Luis or danny, so why would he choose being a sub?

Bony is first choice. Go ask Swansea fans and look at goals and appearances.

Why wouldn't he displace Sturridge or Suarez? Who is to say either of them have another brilliant season? Add in the cup games plus more league games due to someone needing to be rested more due to playing in the CL.

People are talking like we shouldn't be buying a player to compete with Suarez or Sturridge because it might upset them or something? It's not our most important area to improve but if were going to, don't just buy a squad player (Aspas Borini) go and buy quality to compete. City have 4 quality forwards, why shouldn't we have another?

simple answer is not a priority position for me and a lot of money to go on one position that had the best 2 forwards season just gone, yes we would like another quality forward, but i would rather we sorted out the problems behind first and got someone in midfield who can score, would be more of a bonus, well more than the current lot anyway.

we don't have silly money or wages to throw at people either.

    I agree it's not a problem
Position. But if it's a choice between a squad player in Bony or a first team player like Lukaku I'd have the first team player every day of the weak. Buy for the first team and squad will look after itself.

  11. Being a back-up keeper is very different to being a back-up elsewhere. The keeper rarely changes from line-up to line-up but the outfield changes all the time. Keepers don't suffer from fatigue in the same way outfield players do. Keepers generally don't pick up as many bookings and suspension as outfield players.

yeah but.... back up keep is a nightmare when the injury comes cos the injury is rarely a pulled muscle its a dislocated finger or shoulder or kick in the head or something... the thought of pantilimon coming in for instance is not half as scary as brad jones in for 3 months.

back up keepers must be solid and reliable. i'd rather we pick up a senior liek friedal who's winding down than a never was.... Surely there's a couple out there who'd bench warm for the dosh.... hardly an endorsement but you know what i mean.

  13. Its also a luxury that you can look at when you already having a big and quality squad, its not something we should be looking at right now as we have other areas in greater need. I agree with the senior keeper suggestion though.

Tomasz Kuszczak as back up keeper?

Just been released by Brighton and been a very good keeper for them last couple of years at top end of Champ? Youngish but decent pedigree. Free transfer and wages wouldn't be huge which means can use that money elsewhere in important areas. Only problem might be that he's about as good with his feet as Mig. In fact they're both quite similar in he's also a bit dodgy from crosses but decent shot stopper.

Do we want back up or genuine competition?

Do we want a complacent keeper with a lazy back up or two hard working pro's?

Tend to go one of 2 ways for back up as we can't afford 2 genuine 1st team players or we'd just keep Reina.

An old pro who doesn't mind being on the bench (Friedel/Schwarzer) for example, or a young keeper who will hope to learn and then break into the 1st team in a few years.

The young keeper on the bench never succeeds due to lack of experience.

  20. Hope this isn't true...

Having one English FB that's passed it and collecting their pension is bad enough, lets not be adding another that's also a trouble maker AND wants more money than the one already have!!!
