Have to say the interview leaves me unmoved. Clearly there are some nasty, racist types in UKIP (as there are in other parties) and Farage needs to deal with these and kick them out pronto.

But I don't find Farage racist - at least, if he is, in wanting controlled immigration with a points system, then so too is Australia (hardly a bastion of fascist views) which adopts such a system. And perhaps it's wrong, but I am enjoying watching the elite political establishment getting rattled.

 

The fact that he's around shows the main parties have clearly misjudged popular opinion.

I just wish there was a party to vote for that didn't screw over the average person, didnt lead us into endless wars to keep the yanks petro dollar going, didn't sell off our businesses to foreign companies and controlled immigration.

I have never voted and never will unless there a party worth voting for.

 

Interviewer was a smug kunt. I don't like UKIP but Farage was ambushed there and did well to hold his ground against repeated volleys from all sides for a sustained period.

These kinds of witch hunts only serve to popularise the people they're trying to take down.

 

There's no-one smugger than Farage. I thought the interviewer was just smarter than him and showed him up for the hypocrite that he is.

OK, you've lost me now. I have zero idea what you are on about...

 

Every organization, company, football fans, football players, political parties, etc.... The list goes on will have their share of people that may have extreme views or views that differ from yours, but that does not mean that everyone associated with that group are racist or homophobic. Like a couple on here have already said UKIP have got the expected 'shoe-in' parties running scared. all politicians are self-centered regardless of whether they are blue, red, yellow or green, they have no ones interest except their own. I think it is refreshing that at last someone has got the UK public's interest, the other three are just as dull as dishwater and not really a great deal of difference between them, at the end of the day they will do what is best for themselves.

 

As south park said, its a choice between a giant douche or a turd sandwich.

The thing that I've found ironic about UKIP is that its generally supported by the old Empire types. You know, the Rule Britannia crowd that hark back with fondness when Britian ruled two-thirds of the World. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself I suppose but I do find it quite funny that the same people that would hold such views on expansionism etc would now be vehemently in support of a United Kingdom Independence Party!!

It was great when they ruled every other damn Country on the face of the Map but when the shoe's on the other foot and there's a community of nations where some decisions are taken by others in Brussels, all of a sudden its not so nice.

Just have a look at the type of follower UKIP attracts. Even on this Forum, I guarantee you'll find that those who sympathise with UKIP will also be those of an old imperial mindset.

(Its no surprise Mr "we own the Falklands and Gibraltar" Madrid_Ranger is one of those who also rather perversely wants an independent United Kingdom )
