Nah ... rubbish really. Some good players mind, but overall quality not the best.

Proud of my youth league medals though coz Matt Le Tissier played for another team Vale Recreation and he of course was a class player. As was his older brother Kevin (had a trial with Arsenal, accepted but he got homesick so came home after a short time there - better than his brother though).

Peterborough. Dad's a fan and I go to see them a lot. They've got a great team, fantastic fans and are always a joy to watch.

Alsa heard a rumour recently that Manure are lining up Fergie jr to be the next Utd boss...

Google? Moi? Anyone who cannot recite the entire Guernsey Rangers squad from memory is a terrorist! <grr>

Seriously though, that must've been pretty mint, playing against Matt Le Tissier. How long were you a player there?

Went through the youth teams from about 13 until I was about 20 or so. Gave up playing GFA (Guernsey Football Association) to concentrate on Rugby.

Yeah it was pretty cool playing against and with him. Against for school and club, but we played together for the Guernsey U15's. My claim to fame is getting the MOM award in a game against Gosport & Fareham. Two of our players mentioned in the local paper, Le Tiss for scoring our goal and me for MOM. Very proud of that :)

Not bragging but played against Graeme Le Saux as well (once). He played for Jersey at the same time. Was a year younger but so good they promoted him to try and counter Le Tiss. He played LW and I was RB.

Seriously though Matt's older brother Kevin was, in my opinion, the better player. Almost as much skill but much better athletically and had a good work ethic. My prediction is that if he had stayed at Arsenal he would be more famous than his brother now!

I used to go to a few QPR games as my uncle has a season ticket and they did kids for a fiver and stuff like that, always wanted them to do well (not as well as NUFC of course!)
I guess I kind of have to stop now they got promoted!
And I follow a few European teams, mostly for their style of play or players

Yes I was - the GFA (Guernsey Football Association). We are affiliated to the FA but seperate. Technically as a Guernseyman Le Tiss automatically qualified to play internationally for any of the home nations. Scotland tried to sign him up even though he was as Scottish as a Cornish Pasty. France tried as well (Platini was a big fan) but that is another story. He qualified btw because he had a french gran.

Guernsey FC is like a super club they have created which will effectively be our island team and will hopefully play in the Combined Counties League. Will therefore be a foreign team for all intents. Like Swansea, Cardiff and Wrexham. Hope it happens, I'll certainly start following them.

Should be interesting although I'm surprised they didn't use the title 'United'.

See you in the Conference in a few decades. <ok>

I'm surprised too. Not sure that it will happen though. Travel costs may prove too expensive. The league wants the club to pay all travel costs for away teams visiting. And of course every away game means travel for GFC. Unless they can get a sponsorship from one of the airlines I can't see them being able to afford it.

Just had a look and you'd be starting at a decent level, only 3/4 promotions off the Blue Square, hopefully the team gets a good sponsor afterall it'll be bringing in extra tourism for the island. I see most opposition fans viewing it like the Prem fans saw Blackpool's promotion, the chance for a nice day out.

Yeah that is one of the things we are hoping :) Tourism could do with a bit of a boost at the moment.

We have some pretty good players as well so I think we'll do ok in that league. Not expecting promotion straight away but I think it will be possible before too long if we keep the team together. Exciting times really. Been hoping we would do this for a long time.
