FFP - City & PSG Break Rules

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by InBiscanWeTrust, Apr 28, 2014.

  1. Or they sell said player and subsidise their wages thus still given them more budget to play with without losing a player they need.

Not my call Page, i always hear he had to sell to buy. My contention has always been that you only do this to buy better and improve the team/squad. If you do it just to enlarge the squad (or for any other reason) then you are a fool.

Leaving them paying the new player top wages whilst still paying an ex-player a decent sum making the wage bill even higher?

You are assuming every manager works on the same level and by the same freedoms and restrictions.

eg : wages, if he was only allowed to offer wages within a certain pay scale it would prevent him signing top players and restrict him to buying several for a lesser fee on lesser wages.

    Just saying.

Nope, it is really easy to understand. As you say, he sold top players and paid more to replace them with average players. Poor management.

So what would be the point if it didn`t improve the team/squad? Did he sell just to buy someone to keep the fans happy?

Is there any point to all of this, or is it just an intellectual exercise in sophistry?

  9. As I said, its better than keeping the **** player, it helps.

Without selling or breaking FFP? Yeah right <laugh>

Didn't I just say that about the latter part of his reign? <doh>

  10. Just thinking the same thing. Not sure what Diego is getting at or trying to prove here.

    Clever punishment from uefa.

City have also not helped themselves by trying to be difficult. Uefa wont go easy on them in the future.

21 players, 8 home grown. No increase in the wage bill and limited transfer budget.

    They will struggle to cope.

I think thats rampant optimism from UiR... when city have already a huge wage bill of 200mil+ they can easily balance things and with 49mil net spend they can EASILY manage the next two years.

just like the chavs, these are stories about clubs who've not taken it seriously and now there'll be nothing but serious dodging going on but the transfers will continue to fly.

How many home grown players do they have? Only ones I can think of is hart and Milner. Maybe clichy counts. Lescott is supposedly going. So they will have to play Rodwell and Sinclair so there squad could be down to17 or 18 players

Who will city buy? They have a limited pot now and need to buy english first and foremost.

They also need to be very careful. They can spend 50million but can only make 15million in losses.

200million wage bill (will increase as bonusws for the title will be included. Maybe 10%?)
    50million spent
50million fines (heard this comes out of winnings so does effect their income. Not 100%)
Other associated costs with running the club.

Make about 200million. Little more with the new tv deals.

Their losses will be huge if they spend 50million.

Their wage bill is more than they make. They cant shift their deadwood so will have to sell major assets in order to buy anyone.

City can just **** uefa off and concentrate on the league. I woukd give it 3 windowa beforw every decent player they had leaves if they went down that route.
