Gotta love these 1 hit wonder spurs fans. When they got into the qualifiers for the CL they started to call Liverpool fans deluded, is that just hilarious or what, like your team have earned you the right to come on here spouting because we're having some renovation done. I thought the complete lesson by Real Madrid would have taught you some humility. Spurs are not bad, can't stand their manager or the colliky diving Pav, otherwise a decent club that should have kept Jol Bale, you ARE seeing his best, its all down hill from here. Modric though decent, not the hyped player made out to be, otherwise he'd have went somewhere else than Spurs wouldn't he surely? VDV very good buy but is he happy? inconsistent at the moment and showing why he ended up in Madrids outbin for a mere 8m? surely a player of his skill playing consistent is worth more than 8m. Dafoe far too inconsistent, Dawson is a donkey, Huddleston shoulda been a CB. Lennon good but not the cleverest of players. How many times did spurs concede 4 goals this season?
I think it's safe to say the best players in Spain were selected, both before and after the cut. My contention still stands that not one of the squad went to Italy, while several were or are associated with English clubs, so I'm not sure what your point is.
BringBackFootie... I can understand your cynicism, because you are catching Spurs at the beginning of something really big. You'll back in ten or fifteen years, and you'll say to yourself "Blimey! that Spurs lad was right to have a pop at me and my blind arrogance! He really knew his stuff. Modric and VDV really were the best players in the PL at that time, and Huddlestone really did go on to dominate the centre of midfield for England for the next decade! If only I hadn't been such a plum I might have been able to make friends and retain a little bit of dignity."
I was wondering where you'd got half those names from as you said it was Spain's 2010 world cup squad, when it isn't even that.
How ironic. You criticize someone for being arrogant when that comment is beyond even that! Spurs are a team in the Premier League who did get a little lucky when Liverpool slipped up and suffered a harsh transition period. When the right man were put into the board roles (Owners, Director of Football, Assistant manager, manager etc) then we quickly showed some good form which was produced by the same players who couldn't beat Wolves 21 days before. After a positive second half to the season we showed we don't need a complete overhaul and Liverpool will go into the following season with a minimum aim of a top four place next season. Now, Spurs were lucky enough to beat the likes of Aston Villa, Man City and Everton for the 4th place finish that was left open due to Liverpool's demise. You guys provided some good entertainment in Europe while Liverpool sorted themselves out. But you now have to make way because we want our place back. On topic: With Spanish players, I reckon they prefer to establish themselves fully in the Premier League as they aren't noticed that much when at teams other than Madrid or Barca. They come to England, establish themselves in the league and Europe, then return to their home country as they look to Madrid and Barca. Why wouldn't they want to return to Spain. Hot weather, nice houses, less taxes, and of course, their home country.
You honestly believe we can't overtake you guys when we had a dreadful season, finishing one place below you guys? Reality check maybe?
I think BBF means Pique. And that AC Milan comment was terrible. Remember, Brazilians AREN'T Spanish, White Hot Lane.
I think that he was just at the wrong club, not that the prem was too tough for him. Players like him, Forlan and Rossi are too good to not be a success here.
Here are some more facts: Most of the Spain team who won Euro 2008 play for Barcelona. Most of the Spain team who won the World Cup play for Barcelona. Outside of Barcelona Spanish teams have done very little in the Champions League for years.
Ah so you have this utter bell end on your board too? He's been down on the Chelsea board playing the same WUM games. I mean Huddlestone dominating the England midfield for a decade? Ffs
Ah! I see another Chav's cage has been rattled. Not that it surprises me in the least. You appoint a school kid to manage you straight after having been owned by our own Mr Levy when you tried to tap-up one of his boys. Your mad Russian owner should have known that you don't mess with the Jewish Mafia
