Ever heard of bulk discount? If they buy Shaw as well they may get the price down to £55m for all 3. Makes sense to buy in bulk.

He impressed me the couple of times I saw him...a goalkeeper gets a lot of practice and chances to shine with a struggling team. People don't usually blame him when he lets in 2 of 20 shots on target. Cardiff will be keen to keep him though.

Don't tell them that they can also get a blender and the Coffeetastic Latte Scorcher as a special bonus if they act now.

Here's more great detailed journalism, that is full of quotes and sources....raise the offer by £20m and we'll start talking.

Lalllana & Lovren off for £50m

    I think I may become a journalist.

"The Southampton board are eyeing up a sensational swoop for Jose Mourinio. They have been long time admirers of Jose, and believe the promise of a £10m a day contract may tempt him. With Mauricio Pochettino off to Spurs and all the squad leaving, Jose has insisted that he has a transfer kitty of at least £500m, which the board seem happy to provide"

There, I am now a journalist fit for the red tops!

Interesting that all the talk is players going but Reed said we had targets in minnd and would be starting negotiations immediatley the season finished. Maybe we'll get a real surprise announcement next week.

I'd be fine with this. A lot of people on here don't like Caulker, and maybe I've not watched him enough, but I don't have any issue with him.

Guly do Prado, Jonathan Forte and Lee Barnard depart the Club, while Cody Cropper, Lloyd Isgrove, Sam McQueen, Omar Rowe and Jake Sinclair have been offered new contracts having all been involved with the First Team this season.

Guly leaves after four seasons with Southampton, during which he made 118 appearances and scored 23 goals as the Club climbed from League 1 to a top-half finish in the Barclays Premier League.

Barnard and Forte both played their parts in helping Saints win back-to-back promotions, but have found opportunities limited in the top division and have spent time out on loan in the Football League over the past few seasons.

Meanwhile, a number of players from Southampton's Development Squad and Academy have also been informed that they will not be offered new contracts at the end of their current deals.

From the Development Squad, Matt Young, Joe Curtis and Andy Robinson will depart the Club as their professional contracts will not be renewed.

Jamal Branker and Fraser Colmer have also been informed they will be released at the end of their three-year scholarships as they will not be offered professional terms.

In addition, Corby Moore has joined newly-founded North American Soccer League side Indy Eleven after being informed his professional contract would not be extended.

Under-18s Charlie Higgins and James White have reached the end of their two-year scholarships and have not been given pro deals.

Tom Leggett and Isaac Nehemie have joined Aston Villa on professional terms after also being informed that their time at Southampton had come to an end.

Southampton Football Club would like to thank those players leaving for their efforts whilst representing the Club, and wishes them all the very best for the future.
