Mutakayyef ran another nice race without winning, he looks up to group class and surely has a race in him this season. Taghrooda is the long overdue first winner, wasnt much of a race but won as she liked and now strong favourite for the Oaks.
Cambridge 5/2 - Musidora The subject of some good reports recently and already backed into second favourite for the Oaks, up against a few unexposed types from good yards so it wont be a walk in the park, but she looks to have massive potential so lets hope she can take the step up in her stride and confirm herself as the one to beat in the Oaks, or at least, the main danger to Taghrooda. 5/2 looks fair enough and well worth a bet.
Cambridge was very disappointing in the Musidora, she travelled like a good horse but did not pick up, maybe the ground was to soft, she is a lot better than she showed there. Not sure if the Oaks is still on the agenda so need to wait and see what they do with her.
Folk Melody 13/2 - 3.15 York The filly returns in a listed race at York tomorrow, she ran a lot better than the book says at Newmarket, caught sleeping at the start and racing over an inadequate trip on an unfavourable part of the track on the day. She should have come on for the run and the extra furlong will help. This doesnt look the deepest of races but Radiator is obviously a nice filly, Adhwaa is decent and Belle De Lawers should not be underestimated despite being 25/1, but it looks a good opportunity for Folk Melody to get back on track. We arent going to see the best of her until she tackles middle distances and maybe something will have too much speed for her but all things considered, 13/2 looks a decent bet.
Folk Melody just looks a poor horse, even given that she needs further. Hooded 13/2 - 4.10 Newbury Just noticed this was running, trip looks fine, ground is fine, no excuses.
Hooded another runs no race, Taghrooda is the only one to overcome the curse of this page, the rest have been turned into 50 rated claimers.
Boris, do you remember when you were called Eddievee with your straight from the Trainer columns?! I think you should revert back to that, I'd be out a bleeding fortune following these creatures
Was a joke Boris, no need to start insulting people mate. We know what you can get like, so please behave yourself!
Just had a look there and I missed Munaaser running a couple of weeks ago. He dropped back to 1m and won his maiden by 5 lengths. Looked much more professional and strong at the finish, will keep an eye out for him next time.
will keep this form updated for anyone who is interested as the season progresses, hopefully it gets a bit better My Titania - 43 Balansiya - 2 Taghrooda - 111 Cambridge - 7 Folk Melody - 8876 Shasta Daisy - 0253 Ebasani - 6 Be Ready - 6 Munaaser - 51391 Mutakaayef - 2212 Hooded - 83 Hoist The Colours -631
No one gets all their pre season 3yo's spot on and most of these were below the radar. BALANSIYA looks ok and if you have thrown up the Oaks winner then the thread is definitely vindicated.
My Titania's form even without her running this year is starting to look ridiculously well Boris, shame she didn't scope well for the English guineas...there's a fair bit of rain forecast for here from Thursday onwards so I would imagine they will pull her if it get's too soft for the weekend. It could well be the middle of June before she get's a run in the Ballycorus Stakes or the Pretty Polly at this stage but then maybe the deluge forecast will not be as bad as first thought. Can't wait to see her back in action.
Yeah was a shame, I think she would have ran a big race at Newmarket, as you say with the ground looking likely to be soft she probably wont run this week either.
Munaaser 3/1 and Mutakayyef both run at Sandown tomorrow Munaaser goes back to 1m2 and a mark of 82 looks well within him, id be disappointed if he wasnt rated a fair bit higher by the end of the season but this does look a decent little race. Mutakaayef will be heavy odds on and really should get the job done with the minimum of fuss.
