As mentioned previously by myself, I live near Chester, so when unable to get to Leeds games, I go along and watch Chester as they are basically on my doorstep, so have had the chance to see the Turner twins in action quite a few times over the last 2 years. Nathan had a good spell with Chester the season before when they won the Conference North, was in and out of the team last year when they got relegated from the Conference. At present he is at best a conference player, with some more first team experience he might make the push to League 2. Lewis was probably Chester's best player last year, had the most starts of any of the squad, playing 43 games, and I could see him easily doing a good job at League 2, maybe even league 1, but at his present rate of development I can't see him getting much higher than that. With my Chester hat on I would love to see them both back at Chester, although that probably wont happen, as the club won't be able to afford them. With my Leeds hat on, I couldn't see either of them making an impact within the first team within the near future (ie next 2 years).Given the situation regarding our finances, whilst I would be happy to take the risk on potential players aged 18/19 coming good for the future, given that the Turners are 21, it is probably too much of a gamble (at present) to hope they can develop sufficiently, whereby they either break into the first team, or would be able to command a transfer fee, in comparison to the cost of a further 2 year contract. If the club were in a more stable financial situation, then I could have seen Lewis being offered a new 2 year contract, Nathan I'd have probably still released. Wish them both well with their continued careers, and here's hoping that if they can't play in the white of Leeds, I may still get to see them play in the blue and white of Chester.
Id say you're right mighty. Once were able to compete with mid Pl teams like Palace and West Ham soon, I'll be more than happy. They're currently classes ahead of our standard in the championship
when i made a post about this season and the fair play rules and possible fines and penalties you told me it wont affect you now you have Cellino and all his billions i will say what i said then "GOOD LUCK WITH THAT"
I still don't believe we will be affected by the fair play rules, if we receive a fine as we have broke them I will admit you are right, until then I stand by what I said back then, I don't believe fair play rules will hit us
Actually mukka i dont think theyll affect you either my concern then was that youd continue to pay high wages to players over and above your means, but to be honest i cant see Cellino taking that route now can you ?
Elland Back ‏@EllandBack1 3s Alan Smith has been released by the MK Dons.Don't even think about it.......
Afternoon, as stated earlier looks like all being well a brand new era for us lot, fingers crossed the right players go & the right players come in, the players that have already gone don't look like they will be affecting our future too much, question is do we have to sell our prize assets though :S
Afternoon RT, Welcome to the Leeds forum. Can't see us selling any of our better players anymore, really hope those days are behind us
I really hope so tbh, that £6 million knock back in January on McCormack is a very good omen!!! Absolutely agree
Wouldn't worry about us m8,Millwall and QPR are the only 2 clubs in the league who's wages is higher than there income. And the only reason FFP isn't a problem is your income at 7 million isn't high enough to reach the ffp starting point which is an 8 million loss.
These are the players who's contracts have run out Michael Brown Danny Pugh El-Hadji Diouf Jamie Ashdown Gboly Ariyibi Paul Green Luke Varney Adam Drury Alex Cairns
